The End Of Porn

I'm doing a series of interviews with young women aged 18-23 who've found radical feminism and as a result rejected pirn culture. The response has been staggering, and I'm hoping to start doing video interviews alongside.

Here's the first installment, please share as wide as possible. I'm feeling like this project has a lot of potential to reach young women and get them together to form anti porn campaign groups.

If someone says that they want to stop something not because they are a prude but because of some stupid reason that can easily be seen to be false you have to ask what is the real reason?

Someone says they are against pornography because it is causing problems in society, because teenage girls and young women feel they have to remove pubic hair. Teenage boys and young men never see pubic hair in porn and so would be disgusted to see it in real life.

This might make sense to anyone who has never seen porn. It will seem strange to any teenage boy though because they see pubic hair in porn all the time. It might be neatly trimmed but it's there.

I don't know about OnlyFans because I've never seen it, but on Chaturbate lots of the women there performing have pubic hair.

Sara Pascoe in her book Sex Power Money has addressed this issue. She said it's not actually true that teenage boys never see pubic hair in porn.

That's not the only little theory that people come up with to oppose pornography. We live in a society where people have the right to do something as long as it doesn't harm others. So they have to come up with a reason why it is harming others.

So you get journalists writing that men who enjoy porn are more likely to rape. They don't give a reference for the research, but when you find it it it is rubbish.

So what's the real reason? It's because they are disgusted by it all and want it stopped. In the case of a celibate who believes the same as Dworkin and MacKinnon that women are objectified every time they have sex then the real reason is they don't like men and women having sex.

@jennywhitehorses

You wrote a lot, but you didn’t say anything.

If someone says that they want to stop something not because they are a prude but because of some stupid reason that can easily be seen to be false you have to ask what is the real reason?

Are you now saying people who are celibate are stupid?

Celibacy is a smart move.
Why would anyone need to give you a reason for it?
Do you not believe that women are allowed to have bodily autonomy?
@Joskin69

Disapproval can be a strong motivator for behavioural change.

If a teenage boy has seen pornography he's not going to believe you when you tell him that pornography is violent and none of the women have pubic hair. That's something that middle aged suburban women say to each other so that they have a reason to disapprove.

You just have to look at it to see that it is not true. Or if you won't then read Sara Pascoe's book Sex Power Money. She writes that it is not mostly violent, that there is plenty of pubic hair to be seen, and there is research that shows it doesn't make men or boys more violent or sexist.
A US studyy_ found that punters were nearly eight times more likely to rape than other men.
A UN studyy_ of violent men in six countries found that buying sex was the second most significant common factor in the backgrounds and lifestyles of men found guilty of rape

I'm more inclined to trust researchers than a libfem corbynista comedian who thinks being a prostitute is a positive life choice

@Clymene

A US studyy_ found that punters were nearly eight times more likely to rape than other men.

I've looked at that study and there is something very strange about it. It was done by Melissa Farley who has extreme Radical Feminist opinions. The men were asked a number of questions. One set of questions was the Sexual Experiences Survey. Questions 8 and 9 of this survey asked men if they had ever raped a woman.

Yet Farley never tells us what they answered. Farley says that punters and men who watch pornography scored higher for 'sexually aggressive behaviour' in general and also what they said they would do to women if they thought that they could get away with it. But she doesn't tell us what they answered to questions 8 and 9 of the SES.

Why is that? It can only be because they hadn't raped women more often. If they had, Farley would have used it as her primary evidence. So she's hiding the facts from us. She really is biased.

In the UN study, which did not include Britain or any country similar to Britain in culture, it found that 'having more sexual partners' was the most significant common factor among men who rape. I'm sure that the celibates will be pleased to hear that.

Genuine researchers abhor Melissa Farley.

@CupOfNiceTea

Are you now saying people who are celibate are stupid?

I didn't say that it's stupid to be celibate. I said that it's stupid to think that women in pornography don't have pubic hair and that therefore there is pressure on young women to remove pubic hair. Or rather ignorant. If you have never seen pornography or never read Sara Pascoe's book about it then you might think that.

The people who have never seen it are the celibates among the Evangelical Christians and the Radical Feminists. Also those women who lead patriarchal lives in suburbia like Daily Mail readers. Julie Bindel has found her audience.
