How do philanderers talk to their sons about relationships? How do the spouses of those philanderers talk to their children about accepting that behaviour? I wonder what he would think if his sons treat their wives or partners the way he's treated their mum? Seems like very shaky moral ground to be teaching kids right from wrong when you clearly don't know how to conduct yourself in a marriage. What's going on there?

Are you thick Grin

No I doubt it. You would need to say you are thick. How it's put is vital.

Why would you expect a cross section of the general public to behave differently to general public as a whole?

I would have picked the Prime Minister to raise the point, though this assumes he has any conversations with his children.

There is going to be an Amazon documentary about them. Apparently Colleen describes his behaviour as 'unacceptable' but also says that he has his good points.

I am actually a fan of Colleen. As another poster said, she was heavily involved in her sister's care while her sister was alive and she does a lot of fundraising for the hospice her sister was in and Alder Hey hospital where she was treated.

We also know Wayne came from a very difficult family background. More importantly, I would suggest that the culture in men's football (at least in the UK) does not encourage equality with women.

Wayne and Colleen Rooney are in a different position to many couples in that they cannot decide what to say and when they will say it. Their children will know what has happened once they are old enough to read media accounts about their parents. Other couples have to decide how to tell their children. In this instance, there can be no denials.

I agree with gosling24 that the Prime Minister might have been a better example, especially in light of what we now know about his parents' relationship.

Interesting point - I wonder how it is that since he's been a young boy, he has spent almost all of his formative years in the exclusive company of men.
