Puberty book for 9 year old

Hi
I have now realised my 9yo should probably read some books about puberty...

I have on my list of things to buy Milli Hill's My Period but would like to see of more recommendations.

A friend mentioned one book, but reading the free pages on Amazon made me not want to buy it as it mentions things like "you can change the word girl in the book for another and there are resources at the back of the book if you have questions about gender"

my girl is autistic and I most definitely do not want to put ideas in her mind although she knows girls and women can do anything and men and boys like to 'put us in our place' sigh

So, give me suggestions and I will then choose a book to give her and tell her to come to me if there are any questions.

I have talked about periods but with her personality and autism I think she is better off reading and then asking questions than simply me forcing a chat on her...

Thanks

Bumping, because I could do with some recommendations too!

I thought I replied to this earlier. I got the autism friendly guide to periods

It would be useful to know if there are books that are best avoided due to TRA inspired or general sex-pozz content. (Sorry, hope I'm not hijacking your thread, OP).

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but both my DDs read ‘What’s happening to me’ by Usborne.
They found it quite informative

yes that is why I didn't like

"Celebrate Your Body (and Its Changes, Too!): The Ultimate Puberty Book for Girls: 1" based on the blurb in detail on the look inside on Amazon

Felt like TOO MANY disclaimers just in case someone decided to go for them like "girls but I KNOW some don't feel like a girl bla bla bla"

And tbh my girl loves space and science and picks NASA and space clothes from the boy section but is very much a girl and still in a "boys are jerks" phase

Ruby luna's moontime is a journal style book about a 10 year old and really good, my asd 9 year old read it several times then asked questions.

The Girls’ Guide to Growing Up by Anita Naik.

Nice illustrations (drawings not photos). Prompted quite a lot of questions so I definitely recommend a thorough read through yourself first - whatever book you choose!

It covers a lot of ground in a clear and friendly tone.

Some reviewers on Amazon felt their child was too young for the explanation of sex in this one but I was happy for mine (similar age to yours) to read it and deal with the questions. I felt it was helpful and age-appropriate. I contextualised by noting that all mammals reproduce in a similar way. It is how species are sustained and evolve - two cells, each with half the usual set of DNA “instructions”, join together to make one cell with a full set of “instructions” for a new baby… biology is really amazing!

We love Kay's Anatomy. It's not just about puberty but covers it very well
