There are no sacred castes - Rotherham coverage on GB News

This short interview shows the failure by Labour Council (as well as the police).

Conservative opposition, Emily Barley is accused, in their absence of storing up intelligence to use for political reasons.

I genuinely can't see an end to how low Labour will go, trying to discredit a woman who is trying to protect children. Thank goodness this is getting some coverage. The numbers are staggering and shocking enough so I share with a mild warning (as it's not graphic just shocking in the lack of action).

That line of questioning was extremely disturbing.

It seems to just be an instant response these days to deny everything or say it never happens rather than hold their hands up amd say " yes we have made mistakes etc"

Seems to me they have plenty of sources/experts they could consult who are all fighting fir exactly the same things. Why aren't they working together as opposed to trying to shift blame. ? I don't understand?

Zebradanio · 07/11/2021 10:13

This is so shocking and disturbing. The corruption, lies and cover ups have just continued.

Thelnebriati · 07/11/2021 13:29

I'm not a human lie detector but just look at her speak, she comes across as someone who is being 100% truthful. I can't come up with a way their response could be an honest mistake, and I worry that she is poking at the tip of an iceberg.
They seem to be lying about this issue and trying to discredit her. I just cant come up with a reason that isn't just as scary as what she is saying.

I'm trying for this not to turn into a long rant, but I'm more disturbed by the behaviour of dodgy local councillors than MP's. It must be easier to get into, if you want a bit of power. Its enough power to count but not so much they are noticeable, iyswim.
And local networks that turn out to be dodgy must be harder to leave or blow the whistle on. Everyone knows you, they know your family, they know where your kids go to school. Fall out isn't something thats going to blow over when its your neighbours.
If everyone around you looks dodgy it must be easier to keep quiet and hope someone else will deal with it.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 07/11/2021 14:19

This is incredibly disturbing.

I didn't see this. Thanks for putting it here- I would never have come across it otherwise.

Flaxmeadow · 14/11/2021 04:10

Two things that shock me

  1. How many people are under the impression it was just a couple of isolated gangs/court cases in Rotherham and Rochdale years ago, and that it isn't happening anymore
  2. That the vast majority of feminists still just completely ignore the whole issue

There are dozens of these gangs appearing in court every few months across South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. One particular rotten to the core 'town' I'm not going to name, will eclipse Rotherham and Rochdale in scale like some horrific giant supernova. It's just a matter of time.

Signalbox · 14/11/2021 15:32

God that’s a shocking interview.

OhHolyJesus · 15/11/2021 18:44

Separate case, but it's worth saying again, there are no sacred castes.

Playing party politics is more important in the UK than children's lives. Than all our lives. That's the reality we're finding ourselves in, economically and culturally.

So what do we do about it.

Yes, this is what I have slowly and disturbingly realised. Politicians may 'grant' women individual laws or initiatives, but there is still not real understanding that women are equal human beings. I really do think it is that basic. Whenever any other concern comes along which conflicts with the rights of women and girls, even basic rights such as not being sexually violated and tortured, the other concern takes precedence.

We really aren't equal human beings and they really have no idea what it would mean to treat us as if we were.

tabletennistop · 18/11/2021 11:34

As to what we do about it, I really think we need something as basic as a campaign which says ''this is what a woman is, this is what it means to live as a woman in a female body in a world with men. And understanding that is your starting point to think about what it means to regard and treat women as equal.'

I have realised that there has been no real strong conceptual understanding of what it is to be and live as a woman in society. And because of that, these things keep happening. There needs to be wholescale change based on a deeper understanding and foundation.

FuckingPissedOff · 18/11/2021 16:50

You could watch the BBC's Century of the Self to understand how commercialisation of women began, and has been increasingly allowed and encouraged to take over their interests in safety. One of the big problems is that so many girls now are going backwards and removing their own rights themselves, having been sold the idea that they have no value beyond their looks and sexual availability to men. The internet has done women no favours.

I agree. I know its happened and is happening where I live in the Midlands because I know parents who've had to drag their daughters out of flats in the middle of the night. I know of families that have had to 'do a flit' to get their children away. Same with county lines gangs. Its an open secret, but very little news coverage. I'm sure this happens in every town and city in the UK. Its horrifying
FuckingPissedOff · 18/11/2021 17:20

Are county lines a secret? Schools give out regular warnings to staff, it's part of safeguarding training now. The lack of reporting is another grievance. The UK is going through one heck of a turbulent time, as turbulent as any period in history, all covered up and hidden by out-of-touch and unaffected elites.

TheWeeDonkey · 18/11/2021 18:57

Sorry I didn't mean to derail the thread about county lines. I just think they operate the same way. Groom or seduce the child and then criminalise the child. Half of these kids who are killing each other in the street are drawn into it this way but they are just seen as scum, no better than they should be, same as young girls who's lives are destroyed by these rape gangs.

What can we do? Keep talking about it? Stop letting these predators hide in plain sight? Stop sexualising girls from a young age and making them feel responsible for the way adult males behave towards them? Most importantly stop criminalising young prostituted girls and women and instead try to find out what is going on in their lives and give them the tools to escape that life, but that is all a cultural change and when we have men defending they rights for men to access female bodies for their sexual gratification above the safety and wellbeing of women and girls I don't see how any of that can be done.

Campaigner Marilyn Hawes speaks on historic and current child abuse.

"I'm absolutely sickened, saddened, outraged, appalled, angry, it breaks my heart. We have a global pandemic of child abuse rocking through the world."
