I absolutely despise the whole matrimonial industry in India, where looking for a spouse is a wishlist of superficial and sexist criteria. It's especially stark in the sort of ads that are put out for a bride. She inevitably has to be slim, fair, beautiful and 'homely' a.k.a. a nice looking brood mare to keep the domestic sphere running smoothly for the man and her in-laws - but she should also have fantastic educational qualifications (foreign visa is a bonus). That's because the men want 'educated' wives to boast about her credentials (I married a doctor etc) but heaven forbid the woman has any kind of ambition or aspiration of her own. Degrees and qualifications are to land you a husband, then you sit at home and look after the children. Ok maybe you still have to work - but make sure the dinner is ready every night! What do you mean you actually want to use those qualifications for something?!
Anyway, my ranting aside, I love this intelligent trolling which clearly goes over the heads of many of the people who read it. Zero self-awareness. 😁
