No Periods for 8 years after coming off pill

Hi everyone. I am new to this but thought I would ask advice. I am 46 years old and have no kids. I have no pain or illness and I feel great, but 8 years ago I came off the pill Femulen. I was on it for 5 years and it stopped my periods but they have never really came back. As I say - I am healthy in all ways. No pain, no bloating, no illness. I am not in a relationship and I am not looking to have kids. Prior to going on the pill my periods were normal. Any advice on why this could be? No hate please and please don’t scare me cause I do suffer a bit of anxiety. I have a smear in a few days. Previous smears were fine.

Hi

Glad you are feeling fine, might also be an idea to mention this when you are getting your smear test.

If I were you I’d see the GP for a check up, just to check everything is ok.

Thanks everyone, I honestly do feel fine aside from being anxious about this now. Going to discuss it with nurse on Wednesday. Should I be worried?

Like pp said, it is possible you have gone through an early menopause. It is worth finding out for sure as it may have implications for your health as you get older, which can be avoided.

I don’t think you should be worried, but I think you should find out why.

My money would be on early menopause but you should go and see your GP.
