Branleuse
If you were on a train platform and on the opposite one you could see a man approaching schoolgirls on their way home, striking up conversation, standing too close. They were uncomfortable.
And a woman came up and told him to stop it and bugger off and she was going to report him.
Would you think yay good for her?
Or would you only think that if you knew her politics and it was ok by you?
I don't understand how you can't see that this isn't support for the beliefs of her political party. But happiness at seeing an openly misogynist man getting what was coming to him, because a woman stood up to him.
Ok try another way.
I was born RC and went to a convent school.
When I grew up I decided the RC church wasn't for me because I strongly disagree with a lot of things and I think they have caused and continue to cause massive harm to women and girls around the world.
A few years back I fell over walking home and hurt myself quite badly. A passing nun helped me up, chatted to me while I checked myself over, offered to help me home (I was bleeding a lot). I knew she was RC because it's all very local and we don't have many nuns.
Anyway. Should I have been less grateful for her help because of her religion? Should I not have been grateful at all? Should I have taken the opportunity to challenge her?
In this instance it is a woman standing up to a man, not taking shit, and winning.
As a woman I'm very very very happy about this.
