Fasting Mon-Fri

So I can very easily fast 8pm-12pm in the week. On the weekend, I do enjoy having a cup of tea in the morning in bed (happy to skip breakfast).

Will I "interrupt" the benefits of fasting having a cup of tea (with milk and one small sugar) on a weekend morning? Is it worth avoiding that tea, health benefits? (Predominantly trying to reduce what I am eating, but very keen to generally improve my health also, if there are clear health benefits to maintaining that 12 hour fast 7 days a week, I will happily do, but seems unclear?)

There's kind of mixed info online, but some fasting info says as long as you stay under 50 calories, you won't break your fast.

Some are more evangelical and say any calories at all breaks it.

I have no idea how many calories would be in your milk and small sugar thoughSmile

My opinion would be to have what you enjoy on the weekend and do not deprive yourself or stress about it.

One small sugar and some milk is not the worst thing out there. When dieting/Intermittent fasting, your supposed to change things up from time to time so your body is kept guessing and not knowing what is to come.

Enjoy the milk and sugar, I really wouldn't over think or complicate things. 😀

I’ve been reading Fasting like a girl, and it says it’s best to vary your fast times so your body doesn’t get used to it.

She recommends pre-menopause different length fasts based on where you are in your cycle, or post-menopause different shorter and longer fasts per week (and some days not fasting but eating healthy).

So think your weekly schedule Try it for a bit and see if it works for you

Thanks everyone, I assumed the opposite that my body would WANT a routine (based on nothing!) so it's interesting to hear I should vary!

I mean it is slightly harder to fast the day after a non-fast day. You body sends hunger signal reminders that you ate at the time yesterday so might want to again this time today, but you can push through them.

@Shortpoet ah that's interesting, I always find I'm hungrier on a Monday. The first few days back to work after Christmas are the worst!
