6 weeks today I'm going on holiday

This has probably been done to death but I am going on holiday 6 weeks today and need somewhere 'secret' to track my progress and I need to shed a few pounds otherwise I'll be living in a couple of pairs of shorts and a rotation of tops that I don't really like but are voluminous :-) 12 pounds would make me ecstatically happy, but I would be very happy with 6. I have a start weight.

I am not expecting a miracle but I have had success fasting previously so I am going to commit to for the next six weeks:

  1. 16/8 - eat by 6pm at the latest which means I can eat at 10am next day. I know I can do this
  2. Eat gluten and dairy free. This will help my ezcema prone skin enormously - again I can do this.
  3. Stick to 2 snacks a day
  4. Don't cancel any gym sessions - I have my second session of the week tomorrow.
  5. Go alcohol free. I share a bottle of wine once a week, but this tends to derail me massively not just with snacks/takeaway etc but with a poor night's sleep and chasing energy through 'cheap' carbs. So for the next 6 Fridays no wine.

Right, on track for all the first three today wish me luck :-)

Day 20:
no gym sessions this week as trainer on holiday, so I will have to fit in at least 90 mins of exercise this week.

  • 2 meals, 2 snacks (S&V nuts, beans on toast, strawberries and eggs, bacon, sweet potatoe fries)
  • Am making pillow cases, although the pattern is confusing me with it's 60" of fabric 😄i thought it was 2 rectangles of fabric sewn together #easypeasy
  • ordered a pair of holiday shorts - I hope they fit, otherwise off they go back straight away.
  • must up the water consumption today as well.

Day 21 - so three weeks in and 6 pounds down; so I've hit my original target but I am obviously going to crack on and am thrilled I got here right in the middle. The universe likes to send me messages just when I am contemplating breaking the fast earlier than I should
today

  • 2 meals, 2 snacks (protein bar, beans on toast, protein shake, salmon salad)
  • doggo walk, exercise bike for 5k
  • shorts arrived and they fit, they are lovely
  • have done a walk this morning, will fit in another one later

Hiiiii @SpiritOfEdna - great results so far and amazing you’ve reached your interim target half way through!

Im coming to join late if that’s ok, I need some accountability. I’ve just come back from holiday which was carb/wine heavy and the last couple of days I just felt really uncomfortable in my own skin.

I have a stone to lose by 11th August, I am currently on day 2 and have already lost 2lbs of what I imagine is mostly water. I’m doing 16:8 and minimal carb/booze for as long as I can sustain - partly because I need a detox from holidays!

The plan today is:
run
left over chicken stir fry chicken and veg for lunch
beef chilli for supper
fizzy water in my gin glass with some jazzy ice and lemon so make up for the no booze!
2l water
20mins HIIT

@Anotherfarmerswife welcome! I probably waiver most on Friday's as that is when I have wine on Friday - but it does derail me, so no wine it is 😄Good luck, it's horrible when you just don't feel right in your own skin.

Today

  • 2 meals 2 snacks (protein bar, beans on toast, protein shake, salmon salad
  • 2 doggo walks, if possible with meetings
  • It;s Friday, no more to be said 😃

Days 23 & 24 - kept on track. Trainer back from holiday so 2 x gym sessions this week - I have missed it 😀
Day 25:

  • 2 meals 2 snacks, small pkt S&V nuts, beans on toast, frittata, punnet of cherries
  • Very tired today, book, bath and bed for me tonight

Day 26
Motivation quite low today - but have stuck like glue to fast window.
Today:

  • 2 meals, 2 snacks - (protein bar, beans on toast, s&v nuts, eggs, bacon & sweet potatoe fries
  • long dog walk post 2pm
Weight has had a little bounce back up, but will just plough on That's all for now, SoE

Day 28:

Missed posting because out and about.
Today:

  • 2 meals 2 snacks
  • give the doggo a long walk
  • fast window slipped the last day becuase of circumstances; I have the same kind of day today, so can plan better
  • missed a gym session yesterday, but do have one tomorrow.

Day 32:
Recommitting today - not been too bad over the weekend and I am still 6 pounds down; I'd like to lose another 2 before I go on holiday, but will be happy with 1.
Today:

  • 2 meals, 2 snacks - s&v nuts small pkt, ham & egg salad, protein shake and beans on toast. Going crazy shaking up the routine 😃
  • exercise bike has some space around it, so can do 5k on it.
  • walk the doggo although v. rainy here atm
  • stick to fast window - have been playing fast and lose with 15 mins either side.

@Hollyhead thank you so much. It is nice having a place to lay it all out, even though it is probably very boring and repetitive to read (beans on toast every day!!!)
Today:

  • two meals two snacks (s&v nuts, beans on toast, protein bar + whatever weatherspoons has to offer tonight)
  • Thought I had a gym session today, so went and had got the day wrong, it's tomorrow...
  • all my exercise kit is back up and running - no excuse now 😄

Day 31: the whatever else was fish and chips! back on today; weigh day tomorrow

  • 2 meals, 2 snacks. (S&V nuts, beans on toast, protein bar, ham and egg salad)
  • 1 x gym session done this morning - all good
  • upped my water intake - am 1 litre down, aiming for another one.
  • can't find anywhere to get my hair cut. The salon I was using has closed down 😭

Day 33: the scales are hovering for another 2 pounds down, but I am sticking at 6 pounds down overall.

Today

  • stick to fast window. I have set an alarm on my phone for ten this morning to stop me watching the clock!
  • 2 gym sessions done this week
  • 2 meals 2 snacks - s&v nuts, beans on toast, protein bar, eggs, bacon and sweet potato fries. 1 litre of water down cos of gym this morning
  • need to try and find somewhere to get my hair cut; clothes shopping tomorrow - holiday planning in full flow

Day 36 : that other elusive pound has 2 days to appear before my holidays🤣
today:

  • normal fast window with 2 meals 2 snacks - s&v nuts, beans on toast, protein bar, bacon, egg & sweet potatoe fries.
  • no usual gym session today - it’s Wed & Thurs this week

  • gym today
  • 2 meals, 2 snacks, rubbery scrambled eggs, s&vnuts, Protein bar & whatever is in the fridge later.
  • need to walk the doggo later but it's a late one with meetings today

Day 39 - must have lost track of a couple of days anyway! 6 pounds down for my holidays so all good. I have really stalled the last 3 weeks but am going to list the positives from my experiment for myself:

  • alcohol free really isn’t a chore: that Friday night glass of wine disrupts my sleep - poor decisions the next day
  • gluten/ dairy free - my skin is loads better
  • I can tolerate hunger in the mornings but deprive me of that first coffee of the day and I am raging
  • 2 x gym sessions are probably not enough the weeks I lost the weight I was also doing 2 x long dog walks a day
