> eating normally
I was shocked to discover a ginger nut biscuit has 90 calories.
If you go back to 'eating normally' you won't see much progress, if normal to you is more than your recommended calories.
I had an office job. Morning. Toast and marmalade when I first got up. 300 calories. Cereal a bit later. 300. Tea and biscuits at work, a couple of rounds, 250 calories. A few times a week maybe a McDonald's. 1000 calories. Maybe a yoghurt around 4 pm 50cal. So that's already almost 2000, and as a sedentary woman I need about 1500. Drive home, maybe a chocolate in the car . 100cal. Then I'd have maybe spag bol, 400 cal, maybe some ice cream, 100 cal.
I've not done anything massively greedy, like sit over a whole bucket of KFC, but that was something like 2500 calories.
If I ate 'normal' one day, then 50 cal the next day, then 'normal' again, unless normal is really healthy, you won't make progress.
What helped me was intermittent fasting plus keto to not feel hungry.
Long term lifestyle changes. When I make stir fry, I fry the veg, take out my portion, then add noodles to the pan for DC.
I never eat in the car anymore. Small things.
