Am I following intermittent fasting correctly?

Hi, just looking for some tips. I have been intermittent fasting for 5 weeks and have lost 12lbs in total. I'm really pleased with this but this week I only lost 1lb. I have 88lbs left to lose (awful I know). I have been fasting for 16 hours at a time. Between 8pm at night and 12 noon the next day. I eat lunch and dinner and try to have healthy snacks. I worked out that to be in a calorie deficit my daily calories needed to be approx 1307. Tried going lower this week to 1200 but did not make any extra difference. I don't get a lot of exercise and I don't drink as much water as I should although I am trying to drink more.
I log my calories on myfitnesspal and use the fastic app to track my fasting. I have not really been looking at the daily allowances for fibre etc. Would that make a difference to the weight loss?
I understand that it took time to put the weight on so will take time to come off. Would just like to speed up the process if possible. Other relevant details, I am 50 years old and 5ft 3.

At 50 and 5ft 3 you don't have much room for manouver in your calorie allowance even with 88lb still to go

My advice is to be extremely accurate in calorie tracking, eg if you use oil for cooking, measure that splash exactly by weighing the bottle before and after - no guesswork, ever. Use USDA verified calorie amounts if you use a tracking app.

This made all the difference for me and I've lost 8.5 stone altogether (I think.. about 126lbs) using 16:8 fasting and lower carb, plus calorie tracking

to lose 1lb you need to be 1000 calories under your TDEE and that keeps changing as your weight changes, so recalculate every few weeks

I also don't weight myself weekly - I weight monthly - this evens out salt/exercise/hormone related water retention weight etc and gives my scales a chance at fully picking up on whats been lost.

start viewing 1lb as a lot - it honestly is and is a more realistic goal per week (or 4lb ish per month)

at some point, especially as you get closer to goal, 2lb per month will be realistic and to be celebrated. Keeping going and adjusting mindset is the whole battle.

and don't be put off by how long it takes - the time will pass anyway whether you do or you don't keep persevering

@Lubeyboobyalt
Thanks very much! I realise there is still a lot that I need to learn about IF but your advice and tips will help me to keep going. Your weightloss is inspiring and goes to show how successful 16:8 is when followed correctly. I think I will also look at lowering my carbs as that seems to be a significant factor too. Thanks again.

Surely by being under by 1000 calories a day you should lose about two pounds ?
7000 calories deficit?

Try some extended fasts of 1-3 days once a month. If you do this increase your calories to maintenance level on the days you do eat that week.
Lowering daily calories too much can be detrimental to weight loss. Your body will adjust to be more efficient on lower calories if you do it consistently for a long period.

Look up Jason Fung or Eric Berg on YouTube, they have loads of helpful info on fasting.
