Does the Fast 800 make you sick?

Does anyone else find that the fast 800 makes them sick?

I gained 1.5 stone during lockdown which I've been trying to lose. I managed to lose 1 stone in the spring with the fast 800. My pattern seems to go something like this:

Days 1 and 2: Feel fine, drop around 3 pounds
Day 3 or 4: Feel absolutely horrendous like I'm dying. Terrible headache, nausea, and physically vomiting 🤮. Maintain weight for 3 or 4 days.
Day 7: Feel ok again and start to drop weight daily and consistently.

I've recently started again after a bit of a break, to try to lose the additional half a stone. I'm on day 3 and starting to get the headaches and nausea. I don't know if I can cope with it again. I wondered whether anyone else experienced this and/or had any tips to overcome it and not be sick?

I felt rough for a week, lost a stone over a month then felt really really ill. Stopped me ovulating too. Maybe not relevant to you but just to be aware of for anyone reading this. I had to stop the diet as it scared me

Yes, I have to say that it did really scare me when I started vomiting. I felt absolutely awful.

The first time around I only did it for two weeks full time, and then I switched to doing it 3 days a week for a few weeks, which might be why I didn't get any long term ill effects. Still managed to lose a stone in quite a short period of time.

I think my body just really dislikes low carb.

Mine definitely did. I eat a lot of fruit and veg normally so I think my body just freaked out when I cut a lot of the fruit out. Wouldn't do it again!

I want to try this is it really effective

It's called keto flu or carb flu. The Diet Doctor website gives a good explanation of it

Essentially you need to up your electrolytes - especially sodium, but also magnesium and potassium. Make sure you're cooking with salt and adding it to your food. Good food sources of magnesium and potassium are salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat natural yoghurt.

It should only last a couple of days!

Thanks @BIWI

I didn't end up feeling as bad this time around (I wasn't physically sick) so I think my body has adjusted to it.

I'm feeling perfectly fine now, and rarely hungry but still missing my sweet treats!
