Last night my husband was installing CCTV camera.
He called me upstairs to see the pictures quality but as soon as I walked in the room I saw my self on screen and hated what I saw.
I very rarely look in the mirror as all I see is a fat failure .
I weighed myself today and I'm 15 stone .
I'm so ashamed

Sorry you haven't had any replies. We all look terrible on CCTV so seems a bit extreme to have decided you are a 'fat failure'. Try being kind to yourself as a starting point, feelings of shame and self-loathing are not really conducive to good mental or physical health, and appearance and looking attractive really isn't everything in life.

Yes being overweight is not ideal for health as well as appearance, but the reasons this happens are complex and contrary to what the media and popular opinion will tell you it's certainly not a moral issue/moral failing to be fat, or as simple as 'eating less'/being less greedy, and although obesity and ill health are correlated it's possible to be perfectly fit and well whilst overweight or really unhealthy whilst thin so if health is your main concern you can make lots of improvements without once focusing on weight as the main issue.

You've posted on the fasting boards, are you interested in a form of intermittant fasting? There's lots of helpful threads and posters on here. It can have lots of health benefits above and beyond weight loss. One thing I would say is you presumably didn't put on this weight overnight so losing weight and becoming more healthy should be a slow and steady process in order to be sustainable. Too many people go in cycles of feeling disgusted with their weight, put themselves through hideous miserable 'bootcamp' experiences to lose loads of weight quickly, feel good and return to their previous lifestyle, put on weight again, and repeat ad infinitum. Fasting done properly can be a more long-term lifestyle change which still allows for a healthy and enjoyable whole diet but you do need to have patience with it and stick to it....

You have nothing to be ashamed of.

You've taken the first step and decided you're not happy with how you look / how it's making you feel.

What would you like to change?

I'm also 15st. I don't exactly hate the way I look (probably because in my head I look different!) but I don't like the way it makes me feel (heavy, tired etc) and so I'm trying to make little changes here and there.

I've started c25k. My diet is still the same but I'm trying, which is a start. And when I complete those runs I feel good.

Have a think about where you'd like to stay and go from there. Baby steps x
