Just that really. Am going start tomorrow. I have about 3 stone to lose in total but hoping to lose about half a stone in the next 6 or 7 weeks. So any tips or advice for me?

I started 16:8 on Monday 26 Apr, really hoping this helps as I've been stuck at roughly the same weight for a couple of years now and being 50 I've found all my old methods just didn't seem to be working to shift the weight. I currently have a BMI of 28, only 5ft tall so really keen to drop 1-2 stone. I think I'm pretty fit, I use an indoor bike and cycle on Zwift 3-4 times a week, and do one 8+ mile walk every Sunday, just need to add in some strength training.
So far this week I've lost 2lb 😁

Wow well done @neversaygoodbye 2lbs in a few days is amazing! I've also got a bmi of 28 ish (but am 5ft 7).

So things I've learned recently...

Just how addictive carbs and sugar and junk food in general is, and how I've spent a lifetime snacking and relying on sugar hits to get me through the day (or through stressful times). I guess it's taken decades to get here so properly healthy eating will take a while. I've been kidding myself that because my breakfast, lunch and dinner are reasonably balanced and healthy, that it's ok to have chocolate/biscuits/crisps/wine as treats on top most days Hmm. But My Fitness Pal has given me a wake up call as to just how many extra calories they're adding up to.

And fasting has made me acutely aware of just how much I mindlessly snack and graze.

Oh and how much more hungry I am the day after having sugary/starchy carb foods... But that I can't seem to help myself most days... Vicious circle... Sad

@SatsumaFan thanks. Sunday is my "official" weigh day so fingers crossed it hasn't mysteriously gone back on.
I have always been active to some degree (except when heavily pregnant and new baby) but that's never been enough to counteract the fact I'm short with a propensity to put on weight. I mainly did weight watchers in the past which worked but last time I tried a couple of years ago it just didn't gel with me.
I've listened to a few podcasts recently which have inspired me to try something different, particularly Dr Chattergee's interview with Prof Tim Spector where he was saying in the future we'll likely have personalised nutrition plans, and how you need to experiment to find out what works for your body. That really resonated.
So here's to trying something new and hoping it will give me the results I'm after and will be something I can make part of my life going forward as that's got to be the longterm goal. Smile

well, I was very happy to weigh in yesterday. I have lost 2 kgs (4 lbs) which sounds great, but as I have hardly eaten anything last week, I should hope I have lost weight!
We'll see if it keeps going now I am back to eating again

Well I just did my weekly weigh in and was up 900g - that’s two pounds!! Aargh! 🤬

I was prepared in my head to accept a gain - my system can apparently accept two out of seven days of relaxation in eating and drinking, but not the three that the bank holiday weekend brought - but TWO WHOLE POUNDS (ie, 7000 extra calories!) was not expected. 😭

Oh well, this week should be more normal. Good luck everyone.
