Low blood sugar

Hi I’m just starting the 5.2 , I always suffer hugely with low blood sugar when ever I’ve dieted before, which causes me to crash and eat chocolate as I feel terrible. Just wondering if anyone else has felt similar and how I can stop that from happening on FD’s?

You can stop it from happening by choosing a diet where you eat a reasonable amount of food every day, not crashing down on some days with stupidly low calories.

You should aim to eat approximately the same amount of calories each day, preferably 3 good meals a day with a healthy snack somewhere in the middle of each one.

You're bound to get low blood sugar if you're starving yourself on a regular basis, more so if you're prone to blood sugar issues.

Low blood sugar is not a bad thing in itself
what is bad is rapid changes in blood sugar - peaks and troughs

try to avoid eating ANY sugar on fast days

stick to protein and vegetables
that way your body will learn to adapt
and drink LOTS of water / herbal tea / milk
to stay hydrated without sugars

I'd recommend reducing sugar in your diet overall. If you can keep your blood sugar at a lower level most of the time it's going to be less of a shock to the body when you eat less on fasting days.
