Lockdown weight and I feel so rubbish

aceofbase1 · 17/08/2020 22:30

I have gained two stone in lockdown and I just can't stop eating Sad I've put myself in the obese Bmi range Blush I'm quite short so it's easy for me to gain weight. I've gone from a size 12 to a 16 and I feel so miserable.

I'm usually a size 14 but I lost a load of weight for my wedding and got to a size 12. Now I've ballooned. I'm planning to do the fast 800. I have a target start date of 1st September. But in the meantime how can I sop feeling so rubbish Sad I feel bloated, my portion sizes are huge and I keep eating until I feel sick.

I start the day great! Poached eggs and spinach for breakfast and then by 4pm the snacking starts crisps chocolate etc and then a huge carb loaded meal and ice cream and I go to bed with stomach ache and nausea Blush

I've never weighed this much in my life and I can't believe how quickly I've gained.

I don't even know why I'm posting Confused suppose hopin I'm not alone and is anyone else planning to start September?

Glad you’ve decided to get started! Fast800 sounds daunting but I’ve found it much more manageable than 5:2 and the low carb/high protein mix helps keep cravings away. You’ll be surprised how much you can lose by September!

aceofbase1 · 18/08/2020 21:48

Mushroom lover Grin I actually might do that haha

Ooh I like the sounds of that app I'll give it a go!

Dp hates mushrooms and he says the house stinks of them since I made the soup oooops Wink

Love everyone's positive stories!

aceofbase1 · 19/08/2020 09:48

Me too Grin

I'm struggling today Sad still have this migraine and I'm finding fasting hard because usually coffee with milk and sugar would keep me going. The end of my fast should be 12:30 and I have my mushroom soup to tuck into Grin I'm not sure how I'll make it to that time without coffee!

I've had a chamomile and honey tea and I'm just about to drink a strawberry one. Doesn't have the same hit as a coffee though Blush

@aceofbase1 i'd be careful with the teas, the honey tea and strawberry will raise your insulin levels which breaks your fast!
Its only plain water and black coffee you can have for a clean fast. But if you are just cutting down and preparing yourself to start fasting its a good start Smile

aceofbase1 · 19/08/2020 12:04

Thanks sissy I didn't realise that I thought it said in the book that you could have herbal teas Sad

OP posts:
Sissy31 · 19/08/2020 12:27

Green tea and black tea is okay, as it doesnt spike insulin. Anything that slikes insulin is the issue.

aceofbase1 · 19/08/2020 17:53

Thanks for that it's interesting- I'll stay away from the herbal teas now I'm fasting. I can drink black tea so I'll drink that.

Today went really well until after tea I had some spare calories so I had some Greek yogurt and berries but I weighed out too much so I've gone over 800 by 72 calories Blush

I'm going to try and come under the next couple of days.

I think I like Greek yogurt too much Confused

It's been another mushroom filled day Grin mushroom soup for lunch and chicken, mushrooms and spinach for dinner! Grin I'm not feeling hungry at all

MrsP2015 · 19/08/2020 22:19

Well done op sounds a great day and 72 calls is nothing!

I had veg for lunch and a proper tea and then pastries Confused it's my only reward all day lol and it's the day food snacking I need to stop so I figure this is ok Grin

So I'm classing mine as a great day again, second one. I did start craving crap about 2pm like crisps/ chocolate but I busied myself and it worked!

Here's for a good tomorrow WineWine

Belindabelle · 19/08/2020 22:27

Don’t try and reclaim the 72 cals by eating under for the next few days. Just aim for 800 each day and see how you do. 50 or so cals either way won’t really make a difference.

I started this on Monday. Absolutely determined to do a full week and see how much weight I can lose. Then I will try for another week and then another.

aceofbase1 · 20/08/2020 07:42

Pastries Mmmm Grin

Well today I've woken up 2.5lbs lighter than Monday - that's two days of doing this woe! Hoping this continues. I brought my fast forward last night so I finished eating at 6pm and was satisfied. So I can eat earlier today yippe! Aiming for 16:8

I wonder how much I can realistically lose my the event I have to attend next weekend Smile I'm secretly hoping for half a stone!

I'm going to have a day off as drinks and food out are involved and then straight back on it to continue.

Well done!

That's exactly the right approach, enjoy special occasions and get back on track. They won't do any damage and life is too short for water and lettuce on a night out.

aceofbase1 · 21/08/2020 07:45

5lb off since I started on Tuesday Star so so pleased and can't wait to see what the scales say next Tuesday after 1 whole week!

Thanks to everyone who motivated me to start earlier than I planned!

OP posts:
Oysterbabe · 21/08/2020 09:33

That's fantastic. Well done!

Miffytastic · 21/08/2020 10:24

Brilliant! Smile

aceofbase1 · 21/08/2020 10:30

Thank you!

Has anyone else felt shaky after a fast?

I've managed 16 hours but towards the last half hour I've started to feel weak and shaky. I've eaten now but still got the shakes.

I've been shaky in the past when not fasting, it usually happens when I've eaten some white bread as toast and then a few hours later I start to get shaky and sick and have to eat some chocolate or something to stop it.

Wondering whether 16 hours might have been just that bit too long for me?

aceofbase1 · 28/08/2020 08:01

Thank you to everyone that persuaded me to start this instead of waiting for an even this weekend. I've lost 9lbs and I'm over the moon! I'm having this weekend off, my fridge is full of all the healthy stuff I've been eating and Sunday I'm straight back on it!

Well done, what a great inspiring story! I'm in a similar boat - short, and with 2 stone to lose. I'm just coming to the end of my second week on Fast 800, and enjoying it very much. And I've just ordered a Fitbit on Amazon!

aceofbase1 · 30/08/2020 19:46

@1questionshootout I did the same and ordered an Apple Watch and it's really helped me pick up my exercise and be more aware in general. You'll really love having it as an extra tool

OP posts:
W989 · 13/09/2020 11:30

Since May, I've gone from a 32 waist to a 28. Sticking to 16:8, 15:9 when busier. It is difficult at first, but gets easier

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 13/09/2020 19:20

Well done, aceofbase1, that's a great start. I've been doing 16:8 since June and am 10kg down. I don't want it to shift any faster as I'm hoping my skin will snap back (a bit!).

You haven't mentioned water. Water is really, really important as the body confuses dehydration with hunger; have a glass of water and that can really help. I struggle a bit sometimes so have those cold infusion teabags and they help a lot.

Keep going! Grin
