Is this why I'm being a raging cow?

I am so pissed off at everything at the moment, and I can't figure out why. I can't stand my husband breathing near me. I can't stand the dog licking her lips. I don't have a reason for it. I can't even blame covid - I'm in Australia, so we're pretty much back to normal. The only thing I can think of is that I've been doing 16:8 and have lost a few kg. Has anyone else experienced this?

Haven't experienced what you talk about directly, but I do 5:2 and have on occasion felt pretty rope-y on a fast day, for me I feel quite sicky-y/nauseous and sometimes really really cold - both of which are not pleasant so I probably do get a bit irritable. I am pretty sure my symptoms are strongly linked to being dehydrated, are you drinking enough water (we do take a fair % of our liquid intake in through food which obviously if you are eating less you need to replace through drinks)? You can also try the 'marmite' trick which is recommended for headaches, just a spoonful of plain marmite (or vegemite as you are in Aus, or I think soy sauce works as well) to replace lost salts/vitamins? Also, although you probably get enough living in a sunny place, you can try taking a vitamin D supplement or maybe just a good multivitamin to see if that makes a difference?

Thanks! I actually had a Vegemite toast this afternoon, as I had a headache, and I'm feeling much better. I'm going to start a multivitamin.

You need salt and magnesium during a fast.
Download the Zero app (free version) and do not only use it to log in your fast in the timer but use the learn section to know how to do it right.
Yes you need to drink more, but you also lose a lot more electrolyte.

I am in Australia as well (wave) and I think the post-coved has changed us all , even if we are - almost - back to normal.

I felt like this for a while - either angry or very low mood, though I didn't feel hungry. I use a magnesium spray anyway, but I don't add salt to food, so wasn't having much at all. I started grinding the salt grinder into my hand and eating the salt a couple of times during the morning and actually felt much better for it.
