So after seeing some horrifically unflattering photos of myself on FB, I weighed myself and I'm well over what I should be Blush

So I've done some reading on the 16:8 method as opposed to 5:2 and feel this would be better for me overall.

I'm thinking 9-5 as my eating period as I walk the dog in the morning and need to eat breakfast, but could quite happily have an early dinner and then not eat until the next day.

Has anyone had any success at this?

Hi @vanillandhoney
I'm doing this at the moment.
I'm doing 12-8 eating window (or making it smaller if i can)
I'm on day 9 and feeling okay.
It takes a few days to get used too but drinking plenty of water during your fasting hours helps Smile

Thanks for replying @Sissy31 - how are you finding it so far?

I need to try and increase my water intake but I'm drinking green tea which will probably have fairly similar effects I imagine!

Have you lost anything so far?

I'm finding it okay so far.
Ive lost 3lbs

I did a 20/4 day eat one day, which was difficult but i want to do it one every now and then if i can.

Today was a tough day. Having one of those days where i want to curl up and eat everything (period pains!) Sad

Drinking more water is always good and will help in the fasting periods hopefully!

If you are planning to reduce sugar and limit carbs alongside your 16:8 pattern then you may well find your blood sugar stabilises enough that missing breakfast is fine.

I used to be completely unable to start the day without food but I love it now. I do a big (2-3) hour walk with the buggy every morning at the moment; and lift weights every few days, and it's not a problem.

Socially, I wouldn't enjoy stopping eating at 5.

Thanks! Socially it works fine because we eat our evening meals very early at the moment as I'm home and DH is back by four. He still snacks in the evening but I'm fine with green tea or water really.

My worst habit was mindless snacking in front of the TV after dinner so knowing I can't have anything is actually easier!

It’s supposed to be better to exercise during the fast as you burn more fat that way. I find I can do very intense exercise while fasting, so maybe try the dog walking without breakfast?
