I have a huge appetite so this will be such a challenge. Looking for others looking to start on this journey.

Personally I am a bit all or nothing - I like big portions so will be a real challenge. I would love to find a buddy.
At teh same time going on a "self journey" to find ways to manage my overeating.

Good luck to all....

@Byebyefriend following your story as you were same starting weight as I am now? Did you really manage to lose a stone in a month? That would be amazing! I can barely manage to lose 1lb in a month these days, I've been blaming my PCOS so am hoping this is the key. What was your diet like before can I ask and do you do much exercise?

Byebyefriend · 17/03/2019 20:55

@agteacht yep on feb 5th I was 10 stone 12 3/4 today I’m 9 stone 10 1/4. Completely fell off the wagon for 2 weeks in that month too due to family meals but only put on a pound in those two weeks. Think it readjusted my portion size back to something appropriate rather than the same as my 6 ft brick wall of a dh. So even though I wasn’t dieting properly those weeks I was still sensible.

Diet before had taken a bit of a hit because I had a baby early December and a toddler too. I don’t do pregnancy well so was making easy freezer/ready meals. Diet before was cheese meat and pasta heavy and too big a portion. Snacking too much too.

Exercise I don’t get much chance at all due to 2 small children. Try to walk but it’s done at toddler pace so isn’t really effective (he won’t go in the buggy otherwise I’d really get a work out pushing them both)

I’d really recommend the diet as I’m already back in my pre pregnancy clothes that I didn’t get back into between pregnancies. —despite all the buggy fit/aqua aerobics I did—

The weight loss is really slowing down now though.

@Byebyefriend you have definitely motivated me! To get to 10 stone would be a dream come true. To get to even 10.7 would be something! I'm on it...

O the horse, you started out technically not overweight so such a large calorie defect is going to be a struggle.

Consider that the extra 19lb you are carrying didn't appear in a few weeks. Make it a plan for this year to get it off. Learn to eat the normal, sensible amounts of food that a woman just over 9 stone would be eating. You can do that pretty much every day and won't find yourself diving into a loaf of white bread as often.

Onthehorse · 19/03/2019 07:44

Pickachew - you;'e right it's adjusting to eating smaller portions wich is not only habit but also I think the body likes to stay at the weigh it is. Personally my body fat is too high > 30% according to the funky scales, how accurate these are I'm not sure.

It's really helpful advice and so logical...eating what a 9 stome woman would.

I don't want to speak too soon, as I had fallen off the wagon with a great thump a few times but this missing breakfast is helping. I'd rather have two meals and eat what I like within reason. Oddly my mood is improving...

Byebye great work and great you have come back to it. It's so hard to get back on the wagon when you've been off isn't it. I haven't been posting as had been struggling but I had two huge slices of cake the other day and bread, I just felt wiped out ad cravings terrible. I'm back on it now though whereas before I would have thought "I can't do this" I really noticed not just feeling like a blob, my mood was terrible.

Again, don't want to speak too soon but not overeating bread, and ++ vegetables mono fats, decreasing refined carbs and the general grazing seems to be having a fantastic effect on my mood... slightyl scared it will go. I feel like I'm sleeping more lightly though, waking earlier but my mood in the morning is much better not having breakfast- not really not having it but delaying it till 12.00!! The other day it worked to just delay it until 10.30.

Hi all..I've given up breakfast for lent, but thinking this is my way forward.. have done 5:2 but I ( 🍷🍷) back my deficit 🙄.
I haven't weighed but am not as bloated.
Great to see the falling off the wagon thing isn't only in my house.
Sticking to under 1400 cals, most days are under 1000, I'm 5,7 & 12st so that should do it.

Onthehorse · 20/03/2019 07:29

Hi Notreallyhappy - good luck keep us posted.

I am skipping brakfast sort of but another poster posted a reat tip... still having breakfast but that may be at midday as technically that's breaking the fast so helps psychologically. I'd be interested to hear how you get on - this works some but not all and I had some rocky days at the start and no doubt will have them again.

I am not working to as much kcal deficit as you at the moment - I'm trying to just sort out my contact grazing and overeating things like bread/chocolate and my mood. Obviously having more veggies etc.

Keep us posted x
