Hi, I’m new to mumsnet and to this diet. I started yesterday and came across this forum which looks like an amazing place for advice and support.
I’ve been a bit overweight most of my adult life, battling the same couple of stone repeatedly on every diet going. However, since separating from my husband of 20 years three years ago, my weight has gone up and up. I now have five and a half stone to lose before my bmi would be healthy. It seems an impossible goal.
My main diet attempt in recent years has been keto, which I did manage to lose 3 stone on. However, I never felt really healthy and knew I was still overeating. I’ve also tried 5:2 in the past, and SW, low fat, low GL and others. I’ve never really counted calories before though, so that aspect is new territory for me.
I will be doing the fast800 at first, for 8 weeks, with the recommended HIIT exercise. I have a sense of excitement and optimism as this is something I’ve not tried before. Then hopefully moving to a 4:3 or 5:2.
I would really value any comments or support!

I'll wish you luck but I'm doing the revised Fast Diet without counting calories because it doesn't suit me. I do food combining (not mixing carbs and protein ) and mindful eating . I haven't much to lose but the eating between 9 or 10 am and 5pm is really good for my digestion and sleeping ! Also flattening my stomach!

I’ve found the same with stopping eating early - I’ve slept really well over the last week. The mindful eating bit, oddly, I seem to be most resistant to putting into practice....I definitely need to work on it. Do you find it very beneficial?

I find it very beneficial , I lost 3 stone with it, but it's easier at home of course, I can't eat much because when you chew everything slowly you get full fast, I base it on Paul Mackenna's way of eating, which is well worth taking a look at.

I put on weight more easily now, I guess it's my age hence I'm doing my own version of the Fast Diet!
