16:8 or even 18:6 - Do you do this on consecutive days ?

I've tried 5:2 and had a pretty succesful outcome with it about 2yrs ago but have struggled to get back into it. My main downfall is my non fast days when I tend to go completely off the rails. I've been reading bits and pieces about having an "eating window" of 6 or 8 hours during the day when you eat mindfully and when hungry and fast for the other 18 or 16 hours. I'm thinking of trying noon until 6pm. If you're using this WOE do you do it on consecutive days or even every day ? I'm thinking of trying it Mon - Fri to allow for weekends out and socialising. Would be interested to hear more from anyone who does this. TIA Grin

Many of us use shorter eating windows - e.g. 16:8 or Fast 5, with 8 hrs or 5hrs respectively - to keep within TDEE on NFDs.
So, that would be for all NFDs, or as many as you wish.

Losing weight on 16:8, as with any other WOE, normally requires a substantial weekly calorie deficit. So, you can combine it with 5:2, or do daily 16:8 with a calorie deficit

Thanks big choc. That makes sense. I'll give 16:8 a try to see how I get on and maybe ease me back into 5:2.

I do 16:8 with a daily calorie deficit, and is working well for me. I don't want to do 5:2 because I don't want my children to notice I'm not eating. They never notice I don't have breakfast, though, so I feel it works well for my needs.

I do 16:8 daily and have lost 34 pounds. I find it really easy to stick to and can see myself eating this way long term.

I find 16:8 really easy and kind of slipped in to it by skipping breakfast before I knew it was a 'thing' Grin - I've gone down over 2 dress sizes in the last 6 months, don't miss a thing and don't really have to think about what I am eating although I am also avoiding carbs a tiny bit.
What put me off 5:2 (I've never tried it) is the calorie counting on the fast days.
I've recently found [http://www.dietdoctor.com/how-to-lose-weight this site]] and find their reasoning really rather compelling.
