5:2 and asthma - did yours improve?

My husband has just started 5:2 in a bid to lose his spare tyre (now that he's seen me lose mine Grin) but after reading about the various other health benefits he was also wondering whether his asthma might improve after a while - has anyone had any experience of this? He is on 2 inhalers and montelukast, and also a nasal steroid spray. When I met him 10 years ago he was on no medication at all, so it's gradually got worse & he gets a bit fed up with it at times.
So, any stories of asthma getting better (or, hopefully not, worse) when following IF?
TIA.

Not much research on 5:2, but on ADF and asthma there are many research papers e.g. BlogSummary and a Book by Dr. Johnson.
I have that and IIRC it refers to lots of his work with asthma patients.

If he is really keen on improving asthma, I suggest ADF first, then maybe see if he can maintain the health benefits with 5:2

Mine got worse, but I think it was because,on FDs with fewer calories I realised how hard I was working to breathe and breathing was much more tiring.

Mine got better plus hayfever better then it's ever been. A friend who also does the 5:2 swears it's the 5:2 that really helped her hayfever.
