Nutrition on FDs

Hello,

This may seem like a stupid question. I fast three days a week, but for religious not health reasons (although obv. the weight control is an added bonus and, since I don't want to lose much if any weight, means I can pig out on NFDs).

So I generally eat nothing on FDs, but I do have an unlimited amount of drinks. I don't calorie count.

My question is whether, healthwise, I'm expected to make up for 'lost' nutrition on NFDs? E.G. Should I be trying to eat 14(!) portions of fruit & veg a day? Not going to happen. Or do NFDs just mean normal eating? I've been doing this for a few years and it's only just occurred to me that maybe I should be trying to supplement normal eating on the days I do eat, I haven't been so far.

Sorry no-one's replied before...

well, I guess it all depends what 'normal' is. I would think that so long as most of your NFD food is nutritious and not too much crap you won't go far wrong. If you're maintaining weight eating 4:3, then you're eating the right amount for you... so if the proportions of veg, protein etc seem reasonable then probably OK.

Think of your food across a whole week or month, rather than per day.

A big plate of vegetable stir fry has several days worth of portions in it ...
