Any 5:2 ready meals you recommend?

Find that if cooking for my family sometimes just easier to have a ready meal myself on a fast day. Any you recommend?

I haven't seen any ready meals, sometimes I get cartons of soup. If you pick wisely, say lentil &spice type ones, they are filling and low cal and low bother. The Street Fusion range are good

There are loads. The nice thing about ready meals is that the calories are shown on the label. Don't feel you have to just stick to "weight watchers" or "count on us" or other specific "diet" ranges - many "normal" ready meals will come in under 500 cals as well.

What sort of things do you like - curry and rice? Pasta? Roast dinner?

Loads of ready meals come in under 500 calories - I had Waitrose Cumberland Pie yesterday for 462 calories.

It was lovely but it would have been better if I could have swopped the potato top for a lot of vegetables.

I like M and S fuller longer meals - them plus a salad or half a kilo of broccoli or cauliflower is good

Thin crust supermarket own pizzas are surprisingly low in calories. Worked for me with kids and a family tea time. I had a quarter or maybe even half and a heap of leafy salad.

Easy fast day meals ....

a tub of supermarket fresh soup - whole tub around 300 cal
whole tin of baked beans on a slice of ham with parmesan shavings - around 400 cals
mushroom and onion two egg omelette - around 300 cals

but lots of 'ping' meals are under 400 cals ...

I have the Weight Watchers meals on my fast days (most are under 300cals), the kids eat something quick and easy earlier and I don't really like proper cooking on a fast day, I never ate any ready meals before doing 5:2 but they are ok and do the job, it is nice to have a couple of nights off cooking I find.

I skip breakfast and for lunch usually have a couple of eggs, 1/2 english muffin.

I don't normally have ready meals, but I had a couple of leftover M+S nut roasts from Christmas guests, so I had one last night with a pile of carrots. It was delicious. (which is good as I have two more in the freezer).

I sometimes have baked beans on toast, and last week had a very tasty cheese omelette (which was quicker to cook than most ready meals)

Put this on the main thread but bought one in sainsburys yesterday, was a brand called Kirstys I think and was sausages, sweet potato mash and onion gravy and only came in at 260 calories!
Was alright too, going to go back in today to look for the rest of the range as its not online

I had a lovely Kerala Cod Curry from Sainsburys last week. Think it was about 350 cals
