evening! I desperately need to lose weight but would love a buddy to keep me on the straight & narrow, offer support to each other, tips etc. A bit like weight watchers I Suppose but no need to attend an actual meeting.

anyone interested? I propose starting on Monday for an 8 week period to take us to the festive break. Then have a 3 week break enjoying ourselves before starting again mid Jan....

how does that sound?

A bit about me: mum of 1 (18moDS), breastfeeding morning & night on work days & on demand if required on my non work days, married, work 4 day week as a professional something in London (long hours), hypothyroid, never done a fast/5:2 diet before but heard fabulous things about it from my work colleagues, weighing in at 82kgs which is way too much for my 5'4 height :) Halloween Blush
In the medium/long term I would like to get below 70Kgs but in the short term losing 4 or 5 kgs before Christmas would be fab.

That's me done too, I had porridge with water for breakfast, a bowl of carrot and corriander soup for dinner with an apple and 10 cal jelly for afters. I'm thinking my next fast day will be on Wednesday.

I am fasting today. A bit derailed as I was going to take my laptop to the library to work and avoid food, but my DS is off school until lunchtime. I have had 3 x coffees so far, so maybe 70 cals of milk.

whyno · 29/10/2013 16:57

Yesterday went well. I should disclose I have upped my allowance on both fast day by 300 to allow for breastfeeding.

Yesterday I had porridge herbal teas and then a baked potato with beans for supper. Went to bed early Grin

Today seems sort of harder as I'm using MFP to track my calories and wow, snacking takes up a lot of calories. Am quite shocked! Good to know though.

My son has just refused to even try his supper so having to will myself not to eat his meatballs Hmm

I was thinking Friday mornings to inspire me not to go crazy at the weekend but happy to record results on Monday morning. I actually hopped on the scales this morning and was 2 lbs lighter but I'm a bit dubious as a) it fluctuates a lot depending on when I've fed, and b) no more fast days between now and Monday! My mil turned up today with a tray of brownies and a coffee cake HmmGrin

Evening! Managed 2 FDs on Mon & Wed. Worked really well. Scales on Friday suggested 1.5 kgs lost but that was b4 the weekend.....
Bit of a blow out today/Friday. Fingers crossed Sunday is a more sensible day!
I think a Monday weigh in is a good idea. Especially as Xmas falls on a Wed this year..... There is a sliver of a chance I could follow this WOE over the Xmas period & not gain weight. Well, here's hoping Grin

How was your weekend?

Well done both of you! It does seem to work! Ate a bit too much cake this weekend. My baby sleeping really badly and my toddler had a series of meltdowns and I just kept reaching for the comfort food. I did run both days though.

Trying2bMindful · 05/11/2013 21:10

why I intended to take up running too but just have not managed to get myself into gear.....
Yesterday's FD went well.
Unfortunately the bathroom scales have stopped working so I have no idea how I am doing GrinGrin

Hi, any chance I can join you all?

I started doing 5:2 about seven weeks ago, and despite having two 6:1 weeks and one week without a fast, have lost pretty much one stone.

I've got a 19week DS and am breastfeeding him, so on the advice on another thread, I'm having 750 cals on fast days.

Anyway really want to lose 2lbs a week so I'm pretty much a stone lighter by Christmas.

FD done today and planning another on Thursday.

How are you all getting on, much progress?

whyno · 06/11/2013 14:01

Hi Janey. Love hearing success stories, well done!

I've not been as good this week and been a bit over but whipped myself into shape today and fast going well. Must remember to have some veg to hand to snack on once DS gets home at tea time though as I'm always weakest then.

HavingAnOffDAy · 07/11/2013 19:05

Hi

Would you mind if I join too please?

I need to lose about 2 st, aiming for 10lbs by Christmas though.

I need to read up on meal ideas for fast days...I'm planning my next one for next Monday or Tuesday.

showerhead · 08/11/2013 00:08

Hi all,

i'd like to join too if that's ok. I just need to lose a few pounds but mostly want to start eating more sensibly and healthier. I reckon the fast thing could work well for me. I'll start tomorrow.

whyno · 08/11/2013 16:25

Arrgghh I've cheated all week and put a pound back on. Back on the wagon today. I got too cocky after last week!

Hello both Smile

janey1234 · 08/11/2013 18:15

I've cheated a bit and only lost 1lb this week, and bday weekend this weekend which will surely mean I put it back on again. Damn it! Not sure when I can fast next week due to birthday outings either...

Trying2bMindful · 08/11/2013 23:54

Evening!
Well it has been a good week for FDs but bathroom scales still not fixes so not sure how well it is really going..... Belt feeling loose tho...
