4 IVF Fails Endo

Hello looking for some advice after the sad news today that our 4th embryo transfer has failed.
I am 36 in a same sex relationship so no know fertility issues when I started my IVF journey a year ago.
in my first baseline scan they confirmed I had an endometrioma cyst (3cm) on my right ovary. My clinic have raised no concerns or really even mentioned anything about endometriosis to me. They cracked on with egg collection and we successfully gained 6 5 days embryos with good grading.

Transfer 1 April 24 -Fresh 5AA failed.
Transfer 2 June 24- FET 5AA failed.
Transfer 3 September 24- FET 4AB failed.
Transfer 4 March 25- FET 3BB Failed.

I now have a 3BB and a 4CC left in the freezer.

My clinic haven’t really explored my failures and they haven’t tweaked my protocols much, I have always had a thick lining above 8mm and a triple layer. They have always given me Lubion and for my recent transfer I received a blood thinner called Claxane which clearly hasn’t helped. I had RIF bloods after my 2nd fail which all came back normal.

My endometrioma on my right ovary hasn’t changed in size this past year but In my last scan they have noticed I now have another endometrioma in my left ovary, (very small at the moment)

My gut is telling me that this can’t just be my embryos and my endometriosis is clearly affecting implantation and ability to get pregnant.

I feel my clinic aren’t addressing my endo and seems to just be throwing embryos in and hoping for the best.
May I add none of our embryos are tested.

As you can imagine I am feeling pretty hopeless that’s I’ll never become a mum
and I feel massively unsupported by my clinic.
is it worth moving my final 2 embryos?

Any advice on protocols and success after failed transfers and endometriosis would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.🙏🏽

I want to send you my condolences for your unsuccessful IVFs so far.

My story is a bit different to yours, I was in a same sex relationship and it was my ex-DH who had fertility issues although I did have low grade endometriosis which I had lasered off, however continued to have failed implantations, early losses and a late loss (due to other factors).

I had treatment at 3 different clinics and before embarking at the 3rd clinic I wanted to do a lot of research as I didn’t want to keep throwing good quality embryos in there and having no success, made no sense as my lining was good and egg quality was good. Some clinics I spoke to at the time were pushing towards PGS testing and also immune testing, each clinic will have their own “niche” in terms of what they look for. However I wasn’t convinced by either of those approaches (nothing against them- I have friends who have gone through these tests and had success!)

Anyway, the clinic I went to eventually was due to the fact the doctor there was very good at wanting to explore what might be causing implantation failure in my body. He carried out an EMMA/ALICE and ERA test. The ERA test was fine, but the EMMA/ALICE showed I had a high level of bad bacteria in my womb which he believed was contributing towards implantation failure/early losses. It made sense because I was frequently having UTIs and after so many invasive procedures it would make sense that there could be some bacteria in there working against me…

The infection was treated and I was retested and the good bacteria far outweighed the bad so we had a frozen embryo transfer which was a success. My twins are now 3.

I do understand how mind boggling and emotional it is, when you’re putting your faith and lives in the hands of doctors, so take time to do your research if you decide to move your embryos and ask all the questions you need to of the professionals.

wishing you all the very best.

Hi, I don’t have any specific advice about endo but we switched clinics after our 3rd attempt as we felt like a fresh set of eyes on our case might help. Our 4th attempt (at a new clinic) was successful. We paid to have frozen sperm sample moved to the new clinic. It was very straightforward. Good luck to you. It’s a tough journey.

Hi. I am currently on 5 failed FETs. After this point I had the EMMA/ALICE/ERA tests and it picked up the fact they were transferring a day too late. My 6th FET was cancelled last week, as I started bleeding every day from ovulation. I am on a different protocol this time, which does include clexane and aspirin. They cant find the cause of bleeding, it happens all the time.

Have you had the hysteroscopy?

Butb1988 · 17/03/2025 14:15

Hi I have not had a hysteroscopy but I think from all the comments I am leaning towards that before I transfer my remaining 2 embryos.
I do feel my Endo needs addressing.

I'm surprised they haven't done it yet. I was sent for it after my 1st failed FET. Luckily all clear.
