Short Luteal Phase

Hi,

Looking for some advice please. I have just had a surgical procedure to remove a miscarriage - I was 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I have 2 children conceived through clomid. I usually ovulate late around day 20 in my cycle and my period often arrives 9-10 days later meaning I have a short luteal phase. When I took clomid with my two previous pregnancies it brought my ovulation day forward to day 14 like most. My recent pregnancy which resulted in a miscarriage, I used cyclogest pessaries to extend my luteal phase.

I'm wondering as I'd like to try once more, shall I use clomid left over but unmonitored or use some cyclogest I have left over to extend my luteal phase and conceive naturally? I'm thinking clomid might give me a better egg but I'm not sure? Many thanks and sending love to anyone who has been through what I have recently! It's truly horrible x x

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. You could use the Clomid you have left over as there isn't really any monitoring that goes on with it anyway. It's pretty low risk!

It’s dated back to 2021 though! Do you think that would be ok?

Hi, just wondering if you used the out of date clomid in the end? I have just had a miscarriage and after a long time ttc am wondering the same. I conceived my DD on my first round of clomid (I ovulate fine but short luteal phase) so have 2 rounds left although out of date by nearly 4 years!

Sending hugs its so hard isn't it! How many days in your luteal phase? I took one pill then freaked out! I then didn't want to take the rest! Turns out I didn't even ovulate this month so wasn't a good idea. I think I might go private again and have the scans etc because I'm worried about my ovaries stimulating and I really don't want to conceive twins or triplets!!

It's horrible! Just the unknown and lack of control! I feel like I either commit and do it properly or I stop altogether to protect my mental health. When I took clomid previously I bought it through an online pharmacy (dodgy I know, but it worked), I went to a local scanning clinic for follicle tracking scans to make sure I didn't superovulate, luckily it was just one (which ended up being my daughter). My luteal phase is 10 days but follicular phase can vary quite a bit. Hope you are OK and whatever you decide to do works for you, sending lots of luck!

Hi! I'm ok thanks, things have settled down and we are hoping something will happen this month (although doubtful because we don't seem to fall pregnant easily). I think I ovulated a couple of days ago so just counting down the days until I know if we've been lucky...
How are you getting on?

I’m unsure whether I’m ovulating after my miscarriage: I get a positive opk but no clear bbt rise , plus not much cervical mucus. Can I get your opinion on my charts please? Fingers crossed for you x

Really sorry but I have never charted so absolutely no idea, might be worth putting them on the conception threads? I used to do ovulation sticks and on occasion missed my leak so could it be the you missed it? I have just gone by CM and usual timing that I ovulate if it were a usual cycle. I really hope you get some answers, will keep my fingers crossed for you too!
