How to conceive a girl

Has anyone found anything worked in their favour when trying to conceive a girl? I know it's a 50/50 but I have two boys and would love, if possible, to try for a 3rd baby and conceive a girl.

I was also told that sex a few days before ovulation date was more likely to produce a girl.
I'm sure many different factors will play a part though.

There is nothing you can do.

You will hear anecdotal stories about how a particular method worked for some people, but there is no way of knowing whether the method used actually affected the sex of the baby. My friend had 4 boys and then her 5th was a girl. If she had resorted to using one of these methods, the fact that she had previously had 4 boys in a row would have been used to 'prove' the effectiveness of this method.

Take cranberry tablets. I have two girls and both were conceived when I was taking cranberry pills (prone to cystitis not because I was swaying). I think I read it makes your body more acidic which favours the female sperm apparently.

Female sexed sperm lives longer but is slower than male sexed sperm. The further away from your ovulation date that you have sex the higher the likelihood that the male sperm will have died before conception.
However, some men produce more female sperm and some produce more male sperm which will affect the probability of conceiving babies of both sexes.

People forget that some men just make more female or male sperm so really it's what you get that dictates the sex 🫣

There is no such thing as female sperm. Sex is determined from chromosomes. To make a girl you need an X from the mother and an X from the father.

A sperm carrying an X chromosome would produce a female sexed baby.
A sperm carrying a Y chromosome would produce a male baby.

Best way to get a girl is to try for a boy.
