Emergency contraception

Has anyone had similar experiences and if so what happened?

I took the morning after pill on the 7th October. Before this I haven’t taken any sort of contraception for about 4 years. I spotted for 3 days but now my period has been on going for just over 2 weeks. I’m putting off calling the gp because every time I do contraception is always shoved down my throat. I’m a single woman in my late 20s and have had bad experiences with contraception and with gps about it.
will the gp tell me to use contraception?

MAP can muck up your cycle for a while afterwards, so you might want to think about waiting a bit longer to see the GP.

But yes it's quite likely they will ask about ongoing contraception. They should not however shove it down your throat once you have said that you do not wish to discuss it.

I agree that MAP can change your cycle for a while and throw it out of whack. Your GP shouldn't be forcing things on you, but I'm sure you know that MAP isn't a long term solution!
You might be better going to a family planning clinic- IF you did want to discuss contraception. They had far more knowledge of various contraception's- not just hormonal. If nothing else, you can pick up free condoms there and have STI screening! Its not just pregnancy that you risk.

Thank you! I slept with my ex (my child’s father) was a one off thing and the MAP isn’t something I’ve really used before so was unsure about my cycle! Thanks for the link though!
