Topiramate and injection

DD is wanting contraception but is on migraine medication called Topiramate . She's started dating and is considering the injection as she's been told it's that or the coil .
She likes the idea of the injection rather than the coil as few years ago she had a terrible experience when they tried to fit one (pain)
Any experiences good or bad about the injection please

I bled with the injection and put on a ton of weight. Gave up after the 2nd one. Could she not take the mini pill?

The other option would be the implant I suppose but I have no experience of that.

I have the implant. No periods. I experience no other side effects. You can have it taken out if it does not suit. As far as I am aware it's the same hormones as the injection. Can stay in for up to 3 years so no need to try and get regular appointments with the nurse

Are her migraines in any way related to hormonal fluctuations (I've had topiramate)? If they are, go for the least hormone based solution, preferably one you can take out/stop taking and it's gone from your system quickly.

She tried the mini pill as that was an option but the Degesterone she could have they said was only 60% effective with Topiramate

She can't have it with Topiramate she's been told

Don't think they are hormone related no
