Mirena coil- constant spotting

Hello, I'm just hoping for some advice.

I had a Mirena coil fitted last April. I had the usual 3 months spotting and then everything settled down and I had nothing until November. Since then I've had almost constant spotting/ heavier bleeding daily, spots, and BV frequently. I'd like to keep the coil in ( I think) but just wondering if anyone knows if this will settle down again?
I wouldn't mind if there was going to be a period every month like usual, but it's the constant spotting is getting me down.

I had a copper coil in before my first pregnancy, and then tried with another copper coil after, but it didn't suit me. So I had a Mirena in for 5 years and I recall it being fine. And now when I've tried to have another Mirena in after my second pregnancy it's not suiting me any more? Is there another coil I could try? Thank you

I had a mirena for 3 years which was removed in 2017 so we could conceive - no problems then and no periods. Had it again just over a year ago and it never settled in a whole year! I've just had it removed because I was fed up of how unpredictable each month was, cycle ranged from 3 to 8 weeks, always got spotting sometimes heavier. Hated it this time round so I've given up. I just wondered if how shut it was this time was due to my age (early 40s now) or having had a child.

How old are you?

*shit not shut

And the point of my rant was no it never settled, there was no pattern, and I'd had enough. Would rather have real periods and no sex!

I’d say it took a year for mine to actually settle, I had some spotting and very light ‘periods’ until then.
But any unusual bleeding should be seen by the GP, so I’d be asking about it.

Thank you for your comments, I totally am with you on the normal periods and no sex!!

I'm 34, I'll give it a year, so till April and then will review it then, I think, if I can stick it out until then.

I have had mine 12 months now and I’m spotting daily. Doesn’t seem to be getting any better for me. I have to wait another six months to discuss further options- likely an ablation- as I had to the coil fitted to solve constant bleeding-
and it’s just been pointless so far x
