How long for pills by post

Hi

I'm approx 4 weeks pregnant and would require a termination pills by post

I've heard sometimes there is a wait until the initial consultation which I really don't want to endure. I have a holiday in 2 weeks and need it all over by then.

Where is the best place for getting them quite quickly please? I'm happy to pay

Thanks

You know the after effects will take longer than you think. It's not a termination and the world is rosy. Go and see a professional. You need to understand the after care

@MollysBrolly

What do you mean please

You seem determined to get things "done" before your holiday, have you read up/spent time on what you're actually going to put yourself through. You need time to prepare for the day of the termination, the immediate effects on your body as well as the days/ weeks afterwards.

Do you think you won't bleed afterwards or it'll be painless. What if the pills don't arrive until the day before your holiday? You sound like you're taking paracetamol for a headache

OP

i don’t know anything about your question, but bumping in the hope that someone does and that you get more sympathetic and knowledgeable responses

I'm can't answer your question about the timeline of getting pills, OP, but I can maybe alleviate some concerns about the process. Obviously this is just one person's experience.

I had a termination at 7.5 weeks. The actual expelling of the pregnancy was over in around three or four hours and the pain was fairly low. They gave me codeine which I took, and with that the pain was maybe a bit less than period pains I'd had in the past. You will most likely bleed for a few weeks, so bear that in mind if you are holidaying somewhere. I had a day in bed on the day of termination (with trips back and forward to toilet and a period of time sitting on the toilet) and I was up the next day, although I took it easy for a couple of days after.

I got the pills within 48 hours from the local family planning unit after a phone consultation with a doctor and a subsequent phone consultation with a nurse about the physical taking of the pills.

@Tataru thank you. I have consultation this week and hopefully pills will follow shortly

when you say you bled for a few weeks, was that normal period bleeding or heavier/lighter? Can you wear tampons?

Yes I’ve researched and I’m aware of the process, but I’m not emotionally attached to this situation and to me it’s a medical procedure that I would like to happen as quickly as possible. And yes I would like it all done before my holiday

I don't use tampons so you would have to check but I do recall them saying just not for the first 48 hours or so. I'd say period-like bleeding for a week or so and then gradually easing off to be more like bloody discharge over the next 10-14 days.

I had my pills within 24 hours of a consult and 2 days later took my driving test. Was about 8 weeks and after the initial stage was just a normal period. I immediately stopped throwing up every hour. You'll be fine to go on holiday.

No to tampons first couple of days
