Contraceptive advice, progesterone only

So I've been taking the pill happily since early teens, switched to progesterone only (cerazette or own brand equivalent) 10 years ago due to aura migraines. My Dr now requires me to go and request in writing a new prescription every 3 months, and to be frank, I don't have the time (everything else I can order on patient access no problem). I'm done having kids now at 35, so trying to work out whether I want to buy the pill online (not ideal with ongoing costs) or have a longer acting (implant or injection, not coil) alternative placed.

Has anyone made this switch? Which did you choose/recommend? My priority is not having to worry about condoms with dh, and I prefer to avoid periods (don't we all!). I've read horror stories about continuous periods with some of the long term contraceptives.

I switched to the injection. But found it triggered my migraine again.

I went back to the pill. I get 6 months at a time.

I would try an implant (can always come out if it makes you bleed). Or, best of all, husband could have a vasectomy - very effective, very safe.

I wouldn’t buy the pill online, I’d worry they were sugar pills tbh.

Not sure why you want to avoid the coil but I have the mirena after 10 years on and off the pill and aside from some irregular bleeding initially it has been great and really lightens or stops periods for the majority on it.
Unfortunately the likes of the implant has more side effects in my experience but obviously everyone is different.
Has your doctor said why they need a formal, in writing request every 3 months? I got 6 months supply at a time (could just ring and request once I was getting low) and had to go in for a blood pressure check once a year with the nurse. Seems a bit odd

No, I could call up and ask why they need me to go in every 3 months. It's not like I see anyone, it seems odd to me too. I always had 12 months at a time before I had the kids.

I wouldn't want the coil due to horror stories and my problems getting a smear test. I have clenching issues that have made it impossible to get one before. I thought things would be more 'relaxed' after my natural birth last year, but the opposite seems to be true :/

I do have a sexual health clinic round the corner according to Google, I might call them and see if they can do the pill for me, or the implant. It would be much more convenient.
