Mirena coil: side effects and after removal

Talk to me about your less than desirable experiences with the Mirena coil.

I believe I have experienced weight gain over the last 5 months due to having the Mirena, because of an increased appetite/wanting to binge on food.

I also believe I have had really sore spots because of the Mirena.

I'm having it taken out tomorrow...

Anyone else experienced similar side effects and have had the Mirena out because of it?

Once it was out, when did you notice your body start to revert back to normal; weight being lost, skin clearing up?

I’m in the same position. I’ve had the mirena for 6 months and am having it out next week. I’ve put on nearly a stone as the hunger is just unbelievable, I can’t seem to stop binge eating. I’ve also been having lower back weakness and I’ve been bleeding pretty much the whole of the six months. I’ve had about 3 weeks total with no spotting or bleeding. I’ve had no skin issues with it thankfully. I’ll be glad when it’s out. I will be asking at the appointment about what happens next. How are you getting on now?

I feel much calmer about food. Its a weird way to describe it but I do. I also haven't eaten nearly as much food as I did or felt as hungry.

Now starting my period and seems OK. Felt a bit anxious for 24 hours, not about it just I felt anxiety.

Didn't hurt to take it out but I know within 24 hours I felt less stretched, less so big. So bizarre.
