Cerelle - is it a mistake?

Hi all

I've come off the combined pill due to migraines and just feeling it's not right for me and I'm booked in for a coil but not for a few months as that's as soon as I can get an appointment. So they have given me cerelle in the meantime. Now I've looked it up and can find a good review for it! So I've taken the first one today and starting to wonder if i shouldn't have?
Does anyone have anything good to say about it??
Thanks

I took cerazette for years (same active ingredient as cerelle) and it was good. Stopped my periods too which was a bonus. The good thing about taking a pill is that you can stop taking it if it doesn't suit. A coil/implant is harder to remove once it's in place

I’ve been on that or cezarette for years and years. Loved it. Completely stopped my periods after a few months of spotting and no side effects at all.

That's so good to hear thank you - I've heard so many stories of feeling low and depressed and I know everyone is different but it just seemed like everyone said the same thing!

You are right, everyone is different and you may get on famously with it. I didn’t, it freaked me out how odd I felt whilst on it. It was like a never ended sense of impending doom. Good news was, almost as soon as I came off it I felt tons better. You could try it and see?

I found it excellent. Just come off it (52) after around 12 years, and it appears I have done with menopause too. Not a menopause symptom in sight, just continued no periods.

I've just come off it. I only went on it for three weeks after being off hormonal contraceptives for 8 years, I'd previously been on cerazette and implanon but I didn't get on with cerelle.

I could genuinely feel myself sinking lower and lower and was a miserable wreck, three days off it and feel almost back to normal.

Waiting patiently for NHS to reopen coil fittings in my area so I can have the copper coil. My cycles have gone down to 21 days since having DS2, I'm only doing this for my cycles rather than a contraceptive angle.

Due to only being a non smoker for six months and my dad having DVT's I can only have progesterone based pills.

There are other mini pills other than desogestrel based ones if cerelle/cerazette doesn't suit

I've been on cerelle for 4 years now having been taken off the combined pill that I'd taken for 10 or so years beforehand due to new headaches as well.
Also read the stories online and I have an extensive history of gynae issues so was very wary of it but honestly I wish I had gone on it years ago! Maybe a small amount of weight gain on it but other than that no mood swings related to TOTM and I very rarely get a period and when I do it's very light compared to years of flooding and having to take various medications for periods every month.
