Hi

I am new to this so hopefully I posted in the right place.

I have had a really upsetting few days and I am just looking for any advice really. I was with my ex boyfriend for 7 years. We have been broken up for 1.5 year and I recently discovered he had been unfaithful pretty much throughout our relationship.

As if that wasn’t enough, I have tested positive for chlamydia. I decided to get tested after discovering he had been sleeping around. I hadn’t been with anyone before or since.

I have so concerned about what this means for me fertility and how much damage this has caused given I must have had it for potentially 8 years.

Can anyone offer any advice or been in a similar situation? I feel awful and can’t stop crying.

Hi OP just read your post ,and and from what I understand if someone has chlamydia you can have treatment to get rid of it and it’s effects continuing ,which is I’m assuming you’ve had since finding out?

Also try not to worry about your fertility being affected as I’m sure it’s fine , lots of women have health conditions or health related reasons why their fertility could be affected or is affected yet they still go on to conceive and have children.

For example I only have one Fallopian tube due to having one of them removed after an ectopic so in theory once I had my Fallopian tube removed I always thought my chances of getting pregnant would be a lot less and I’d be more likely to have further problems in any future pregnancies such as another ectopic etc , or so I thought , in 2019 I had my daughter.

Even if a doctor says your not likely to get pregnant because of health related reasons it’s not always true as the Human body works amazingly and will often defy the odds

Try not to feel too bad or be too hard on yourself Op , I’m sure everything will be okay though if you really feel worried or if it give you peace of mind would it possible to speak to your gp about your concerns regarding fertility?x
