Does anyone have their tubes tied?

Hi there, just looking for some advice for the future.

I'm 30 with two kids already and currently pregnant. I know that I don't want anymore (not particularly happy about current pregnancy but that's for another day)
I'll probably need a c section with this one as I've had 2 before and I'm thinking about getting my tubes tied while I'm at it.
DH isn't that happy about it but has said if it's what I want he'll be okay with it.

For years we used pull out method successfully, and I tried the pill for a while years ago but it made me really depressed with no sex drive.
I've never had the implant so I'd be willing to try it but I'm wary of messing around with my hormones.
DH isn't open to a vasectomy at all Hmm

Sorry to ramble, just basically wanted to know of anyone else's experience with tubal ligation, recovery, problems etc.

Thank you!

I haven't but you mentioned the implant and hormones but another option is the copper coil which has no hormones and it lasts 10 years. I had it after my first pregnancy and it great. Just throwing in another option...

I had my tubes tied after my 3rd dc also born by c section so they did it at the same time.
All my dc were c section and the recovery was exactly the same as my previous ones.
If your DH doesn't want a vasectomy and you are sure it's what you want then have it done.

I had my tubes cut and tied when I had my dd by planned c section last year but, and this is a big but, I'm pregnant again (31 weeks!).
When I asked the consultant about getting it done at the beginning of my pregnancy with dd, I was told of the failure rate but I have now found out that the failure rate increases when it's done during a c section as everything is swollen. Apparently some trusts won't even do during a section. It's unclear how I got pregnant at this time and I'll hopefully know more when I have my c section for this baby.
The consultant will be "fixing" whatever had gone wrong this time but my husband will be getting the snip as well! Despite what he may think!
Definitely make sure you ask all the right questions!
As for the recovery, I found I had lower backache much more and a lot longer than when I had my first section.

I'd never actually considered the coil because it makes me feel a bit squeamish haha but it does sound like the ideal.

Oh my god @THNG5 that is terrifying! I'll definitely be asking what the success rate is. How do you feel about it all?
I was worried that if I got it done with my c section I maybe wouldn't notice if anything went wrong, like I'd just assume it was pain from the recovery of the section, so that's putting me off a little

I had my tubes seen to when I was in my 30s. No after effects. It was a relief to know I couldn’t get pregnant again. I’d recommend it

Yes, I could have written your post, mdh2020. I had keyhole surgery under local anaesthetic and was in and out of theatre in 15 mins.
Such a relief.

I was looking for advice on this as well anf what people's experience was like, was you in a lot of pain, did anyone have any bad experiences, what was after care like, did you have to have someone home with you for day or two, how long before going back to work in a physical job.
