Flucloxacacillin - please help!

I think I have an infection so doctor prescribed Flucloxacacillin and said it's safe to take in pregnancy

I don't know if I'm pregnant but it's possible but extremely early so can't do a test

Just got the medicine and the instructions say 'check with your doctor' if pregnant or breastfeeding

I am now worried as would expect the instructions to give a full okay on taking it while pregnant ?

Google says it's fine... Doctor also said fine but I'm concerned

Would a test show anything very early?

Thanks for reading!

I would have thought if your GP said it's ok then not to worry. Ask a pharmacist if your really worried.

I wouldn't worry - i was prescribed it around 7 weeks for an eye infection and Dr said it was fine. Apparently an infection early on is common due to immune system changes - was certainly my first sign!

Hi there, I am a dispenser and the gp will be very clued up about what is or isnt able to be taken whilst pregnant. Penicillin is usually safe for a pregnant woman to take, I've taken it in all 3 of my pregnancy for wisdom tooth infections. The leaflets in the boxes that come with the meds always have to day 'check with your gp', it's basically a way of covering their arses legally
Take care

Thank you all, and @Blossom that makes sense x

Virtually all medicines say to check if you're pregnant or breastfeeding - it's because drug companies can't do trials on pregnant women, it would be wildly unethical!
So they caveat it like that.
Even things like eye drops, strepsils or skin cream say it, when there's such a low chance of anything untoward as to be non-existent.

What an actual RL doctor who knows your individual situation says takes primacy over what an arse-covering generic packet insert says, always.

I took it when I was about 30 weeks pregnant for an infected hair follicle
