IUD after c section

I’ve have two children both via c-section. Never experienced labour or cervical dilation so I’m like a woman who hasn’t had children in that regard.

I’m done with babies and am considering IUD but I’m worried about pain of insertion given I haven’t birthed naturally. Will it be bearable?

It wasn't for me. 3 attempts then gave up. Could have had it done at the hospital but I'd had enough.

It wasn't so much the pain though. They are very gentle, and can use a 'local pain relief', (plus they told me to take paracetamol beforehand) and stopped when I asked. It was also that I started feeling very faint, like I was going to pass out. Apparently its a recognised thing.

I would say have a go - but just tell them you've never laboured when you book your appointment so you get someone experienced with that.

I'm not UK but because I hadn't had a vaginal delivery got referred onto a clinic for insertion. My GP thought it could be hard for local nurse to do. In clinic they injected a local anaesthetic which had side effect of making heart race (they did warn me). Insertion still a bit painful but bearable. Would have been fine had the blasted thing not come out the next month Angry but apparently that is quite rare.

I had it put in as a virgin, sore but completely manageable. Had a local anaesthetic the first time, and none the second and were equally uncomfortable but not bad. Plenty of horror stories but at a clinic with experienced people you should be fine

Taytotots it came out?! I’ve heard that’s possible, yikes. Is it related to whether you’ve had a vagunal birth or not?

I’ll make sure to have it done in a clinic then and ask for local anasthetic.
