What contraception?

I'm a few days pp with my second and I'm done now. Dh is going to get the snip but in the meantime I'd like to get a long term, non hormonal if possible, contraception that works with long term breastfeeding.

I always forget pills , I've had the implant which I liked until I had it out for ttc and felt SO much better for it.

Would I be right in thinking the copper coil or, hormones aside, Mirena would be viable?

I always had heavy period until I came off the implanon when it went to three days, like clockwork and super light.

Yes, it's basically a coil (with or without hormones) or a barrier method (diaphragm or condoms).

Is your DH's operation booked? Because even if you have a date for that, you have to add the time for the plumbing to clear on top of that, which is typically around the 12-16 week mark (it's a mix of number if ejacukatiins and time elapsed) but if you're unlucky, it could be a year or even more.

No, not booked yet but he's getting it
sorted next couple of weeks. I'm in no way shape or form keen for any kind of contact at the moment 😂

I think the copper coil is looking the most likely. I don't have the chat for a few weeks but last time my doctor said I definitely didn't need anything as I was ebf. Hmm Sooo definitely going prepared this time Grin

If you go private, he can get a date of his choosing within a couple of weeks. NHS waiting lists can vary wildly.
