I was warned the above causes heavier periods. I was expecting a heavier period not losing gallons of blood which I have struggled to contain with sampro!!!

Does this settle at all?

Can you buy some tranexamic acid?

Think you can buy it from boots, it reduces blood flow.

Goodness I didn't know such a product existed!

I'm on my 3rd copper coil which is, I think, proof that I rate it highly. With each new coil though, I have experienced heavier periods for about the first year & each time I was about to lose patience with it, they settled back to normal. For the first year they were inconveniently heavy, where a super plus tampon and pad would really only see me through for a couple of hours.

It works really well op

Monkeyface, did you experience leakage etc? The reason I ask is that a year seems a long time to endure very heavy periods. I'm considering getting a copper coil but there is no way I could deal with inconveniently heavy periods for a year. I normally have moderate to heavy periods naturally but don't seem to get along with hormonal methods of contraception.

Doesn't always give heavy periods. I've had two copper coils and only occasion get an extreme one.

Has it stopped op?
