I'm getting this removed this week due to constant thrush BV and being hospitalised with a kidney infection which is still lingering.
I've attempted to have it removed twice and the nurse told me it was going to be extremely painful and wouldn't do it. It really did hurt going in so I'm scared anyway but j want my body back again now I think every other month I have an infection and this one I got is nasty and the gyno at the hospital told me the bugs can stick to the coil so you never get rid of them. Have constant back ache and can't stop urinating no matter what I do.
Want to get it out but scared it will hurt and I will faint or soemthing please help

All the doctors say it is safe but my mom had the coil and was infertile after she had it removed and couldn't conceive again they removed it due to an infection too.
They wouldn't remove it today I have thrush and they are pressuring me to keep it as I already have Children. I don't want to come off it and get pregnant but my general health is suffering and the coil is partly to blame.

I don't find smear tests painful I had a swab taken and that was more painful than my smear test but I am not good with internal examinations and literally have panic attacks . I'm wondering if I could ask family planning to remove it as the doctors won't

It's your body. You can insist that the doctors take it out and they have a duty to.

Tell them that you'll do it yourself if they don't (you don't have to btw) they'll soon do it for you.
It's their job to advise, not decide.
