Implant removal

Tried to book a GP appointment to get my implant removed and the receptionist said they can't book an appointment until I have had a chat with the doctor on the phone?
I said to her, I understand if it was before the 3 years and they might want to find out why I wanted it out early, or what problems I was experiencing, but it ran out 6 weeks ago!!!
I don't mind the wait for the appointment, as if I was desperate for it out, I would have had it done and replaced before it expired in the first place, but just seems odd to need to talk first? I would like another put straight in, at the same time too. Any idea what reason they might want to discuss things first?

It's just the way it is - 2 appointments needed to remove! No idea why!

Did you have it out in the end? I had mine out a day ago. She took around 30 minutes to get it out and it was stuck and wasn't budging for anyone! But now it's out, my arm feels really bruised, but nothing's come up yet? I didn't know how long it took for bruises to appear if at all? What was you experience? Also the front of my arm hurts a lot more than the back where the implant was cut out? Did anyone else experience this? X

I've had two out. In each case it was quite straightforward - just a small incision and then it came out quite easily with tweezers. But I think both times I had quite heavy bruising which came up a day or so after the removal. Not sure why there is a delayed reaction, but that seems to happen sometimes.

I have made an appointment to get mine removed next month. Apparently needs both doctor and nurse present. I.m sure that was not the case when I last had one removed 8 years ago.

That's weird. I'm having mind out next week and I'm just seeing the doctor.

I guess different surgeries do it differently. My removals are booked into a 20 min slot to give me time to talk about reasons for removal and the procedure itself. I find it easier to do it altogether!

I had mine out last week. In the end there was a doctor and a nurse there, although I don't remember that being the case when I had the last two out.

It feels really strange being off the hormones for the first time in over a decade!
