Mirena/Jaydess and anxiety/depression

I'm due to have the Mirena or Jaydess coil fitted in a couple of weeks, but I'm nervous as I've heard some bad things about the hormonal coils.
I have tried several pills in the past but they all sent me bonkers to varying degrees - it was like having extreme pmt constantly: very bad mood swings, paranoia, terrible anxiety, stress and irritability as well as quite serious depression. So obviously I was very reluctant to have anything else hormonal, but my doctor advised me that it would be worth trying the Mirena or jaydess coil as it only works locally and the side effects go away once
It's taken out.
I get bad pmt anyway and the doctor also told me that having the coil can help with this.
I just wondered if anyone else has had similar issues with the pill and then had a coil and if they had the same side effects or if it really is better?

I've had problems with the pill, migraines, mood swings, bloating etc. I chose mirena because I was assured the hormones would be localised. Cue mood swings, getting so moody I could only sit in silence and becoming overly anxious over stupidly small things. I last two months before DP could take it no more, I had it out and now have the copper IUD, I'm much happier and will take the heavier periods and cramping which isn't as severe as I expected happily in return.

Sounds exactly like what I'm scared of. How long did it take you to feel normal after having it out?

I've had similar but maybe not quite as strong reactions to every pill I have tried too and swore off hormonal contraception.

The Dr at the clinic persuaded me too have the jaydess and it's been brilliant. I've had it for maybe 4 months and haven't really noticed it at all.

There was the normal breakthrough bleeding you get with a coil and I did get some initial bloating but nowhere near as bad as pill bloating but it only lasted a few days.

I haven't felt pMt ish once and I am someone who normally really suffers, but I'm definitely not feeling flat either like other pills have made me feel.

Everyone is different and I can't say it'll work for you but I'd definitely recommend it, and it's only a quarter of the dose of the merina

It took a month after it was removed for me to feel normal again, two months for the mood swings to conpleltley stop
