Are they really easy to use? And do they really shorten the length of periods? And how do they work the size out? I'm unsure what to go for as am 30 so not under or over, and have had c/s

Don't think they shorten it!
Practise is the key. And you don't push it as high as a tampon.
Search online for much cheaper than Boots.

I've been using a mooncup for years. I love it!! It doesn't leak and is environmentally friendly. Bit messy to empty and rinse- not easy in a public loo where the sink is so far from the loo and too public!!! Sometimes I nip into the disabled loo but don't like to.
Goodluck

It doesn't shorten the length of the period. Now that would be great :)

However, it makes it much less hassle - as you can leave it in longer, use it just before you come on, just in case. Much more comfortable, none of that drying out/pulling feeling you get when over using tampons.

I have had mine for about 3 years almost - and have had no leakages - it's brilliant. I got mine from Nigel's Eco store, it was about £17 - but add on p&p.

Where I got mine ( eBay store) I think it was only a choice of 2 ; one for people who have given birth naturally and one for everyone else.

According to the FAQs on the Mooncup website, size A is for people 30 or older and B is for under-30s, although it does say that if you do a lot of "tone-maintaining activities" such as yoga or pilates, then you might be able to use size B past the age of 30.

I love my Mooncup, but it doesn't make periods shorter. It is incredibly convenient not to have to carry tampons around though, and it seems to need emptying less often than a tampon would need changing.

Obviously this is a really late reply to your message but thought I would give it a go too and they are fab. Been practicing for a while and had one proper panic of 'oh shit iv stuck it so far up its never coming out' until I realised that you obviously have muscles in that area for a reason Grin

Takes a little while to get used to it but I'm less crampy, feel so much cleaner and somehow more in control. Being able to measure 'output' with the measurements on the side of the cup is good too, quite startling really!

Our sink is in a different room to our loo at the moment so I just keep a bottle of fresh water beside the loo and this would work in a public loo too.

Poor DH is loving the mooncup chat all te time!

I loooooove my mooncup. I have quite heavy periods and tampons just didn't cut the mustard, as it were. With a mooncup I feel like I've got a lot more freedom; I don't need sanitary towels as well 'just in case'. I haven't tried swimming with it in but apparently it's good for that too.

Yes you can end up looking like an extra from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre but I think it's worth it.

I love mine! I am 37, have had 1 baby by c section and use the smaller size no problems. Don't do any toning exercises either!!
