thatdamndog, why in hells teeth are you having a coil fitted 2 weeks postpartum???
AFAIK that is not at all advisable!
Usually 6 to 8 weeks is the earliest that is reccomended - why so early????
At the local FPC, to get a coil fitted you need to go through this rigamarole!
Make appt for coil chat to see if its for you!
Make appt for smear / chlamydia check.( if they can't fit that into the coil chat appt)
Make appt for coil fit.
Reccomended to take a couple of painkillers an hour before you go in and have someone drive you home afterwards, because it can make you feel faint and a bit shakey.
Also you should take it easy for a week or 2 after its fitted, then it can take up to 4 months for any lingering cramps random periods etc to settle. After that its fab!
You can get around this by getting an emergency appt saying that you need a coil fitted instead of the morning after pill if you are breastfeeding, have had a recent scare and a previous chlamydia test (and are very forceful about it!)....
