Really proud of my DD today :)

DD (just turned 7y) has done some swimming lessons this week. She can swim a little bit - she had some lessons for a while when she was 5 and got the first level, but stopped lessons after 2-3 months as they were not very good.

We had noticed that she seemed to have lost all confidence and was really clingy with DH in the pool, esp at Centre Parcs. She'd go on the slides but wouldn't swim.

So I signed her up for 4 x 30 min sessions this week and also to start swimming clessons again at a much better place.

I tod them she has the first level but they sad the levels had all changed recently - now stages - and she would have to go in the beginner class. Fair enough I guess, maybe it would help conifdence anyway.

So she had her sessions this week and loved them. She thrived from the first lesson. Teacher recognised she could do some stuff within first 5 minutes and took her off floats, etc. She worked so hard and really out in every ounce of effort. Her confidence has gone from strength to strength.

Today they got their progress reports and certificates, and they did some final assessments too for some Rainbow badges.

DD swam 50m She has never swam that far before and she swam so strongly and confidently, was fab to watch her.

She has aso now achieved all the things required for stage 2 swimming as well. The teacher is speaking to the manager today to get her in the next class up and just wants her to demonstrate a couple of things more than once (not enought ime to do that in the 4 sessions this week esp with the other 6 being non swimmers) and she will then move up again to stage 3.

So proud of her - her progress report is glowing with regards to her effort, determination, confidence and attainment. I am so pleased we put her int he sessions, and just to see how proud she looked of hersef after her lesson today was fab
