She is so upset

I said it served her right as she won't practise

We had a big row & I am not looking forward to her coming home from school today as it is 'all my fault'

Of course it is 'all your fault' - that's your job - what is DD's exact reasoning, do you know?

KatyMac · 13/11/2008 15:07

Not a clue

Maybe I was supposed to do it for her?

She knows it's not your fault really. She's just hitting out, and you're the easiest target.

Have a talk with her when she gets home - stay calm, go over the reasons the lessons have been stopped with her, and don't get dragged into any argument. Tell her that you are not prepared to accept the blame for her behaviour, and don't enter with a discussion with her about that. Just outline what she's done, and why that was wrong.

Has the teacher spoken to her and told her exactly why the lessons have been stopped? If not, it might be a good idea to ask for him or her to do that so that your daughter can see that it's her own actions which are being addressed, not yours.

He & she discussed it last night

If she finishes her theory book before Christmas & does a lot of practise he might come back in January
