I always try to get a larger family changing room and stick mine in hooded towels and give them a snack like crisps while I am getting dressed, then once I’m dressed I put them in cosy onesies for the journey home

That’s a good idea unfortunately there’s no cubicles as such as it’s a school but hooded towels is a good shout thank you!

Where we go the changing rooms are limited. We put a hooded towel on over his swimming shorts and then an oversized fake oodie which is nearly floor length. Then pop fluffy crocs on and then get showered and changed at home. Most of the parents that go do the same.

We use a waterproof bag (supermarket bag for life) so that everything can be slung into it and it doesn't matter if it's put on the ground.

I take extra towels to put on the floor so that they can get dressed with out getting clothes wet on the floor

Until they can dress themselves they sit and have a snack wrapped up in a towel and wait their turn. Youngest one is dressed first.

Shower at home - onesie on to get home.
If we are going on somewhere I have a bag for dry clothes and a bag to sling wet stuff in so it's not all muddled together.

And time - honestly it changes so fast. It won't be long until they are taking their own stuff off and getting themselves dry. Hang in there!!!

Definitely second the wrapping them in a towl and giving them a snack while either I get dressed, or so I can deal with one sibling at a time.

Not everyone will have them, but the waterproof bag's I got for reusable nappies (10 years ago!) Are still going strong and great to put wet costumes in.

Also, stack the bag in the order you'll need stuff before you get in. So when we get changed before swimming I completely empty bag, then put everything back in with cloths at bottom, then towls, and shampoos at the very top. Saves digging through with wet hand or dropping the dry cloths in a puddle when you pull something out.

I used to do hooded towels and onesie. I am now a convert to a dry robe - you can get cheaper non branded ones.

ContentedCat · 31/01/2026 19:56

Dry robe or cheaper equivalents and then go straight home.
