I don’t think that will be of much benefit , does it have weighted keys ?

breezybeaches · 15/10/2024 19:55

Have no idea what that is... is it sensitivity?
Choosing between Yamaha (similar to one on the photo) or 61 key rock jam. This is just to practice home work and if the DC gets quite into it then I plan to buy a better one

No, it's only got 37 keys which are not the same size as an actual piano and has no weighted action at all. It's pretty much a toy, not for someone having lessons.

Looks like a fun toy and might do for a few months, but no more than that.

OrangeBlossomBlue · 16/10/2024 09:59

It’s worth holding out for 88 weighted keys, otherwise there will be unlearning and relearning which is counterproductive!

Can you look for a used P45 or similar?

northerngoldilocks · 16/10/2024 21:20

No - its really not worth paying for lessons and having that - its totally inadequate for learning the piano. You really need more keys!

Thank you all for advice, I went for the bigger one after all...
